Hi, everyone! I live in the lower peninsula. I am looking for a guy from BYC and I think he is from MI. He raises sebrights, hamburgs, and bantam brahmas. I don't remember his name or his website. Thanks for the help.

Theron -- Can you narrow it down? Young guy, older guy? Hobbyist? Major Breeder? I think Sam has those breeds but I don't think he has a website...

Keyt & MIWrangler -- That is too funny! The pics didn't load for me when I read that page of posts so I had to go back and look. He's interesting. I've never seen an EE those colors before. I'm wondering if he's an EE crossed with something else because of his bright yellow legs though?

Haven't been on in a while - I'm taking a class and teaching classes - busy time for teachers right now! Chickens are really enjoying the weather, and rewarding us with more eggs, seeing the ground again was great and today VULTURES! Sure sign spring is on it's way.

Does anyone here use Sweet PDZ? I found it today at TSC and thought I'd give it a try since it seems to be impossible to get DE locally. Its supposed to work like stall dry and help keep the ammonia sent down. The duck room is absolutely atrocious with mud, you almost can't walk in there for fear of slipping and getting duck butter all over you. I also have the managers there looking into carrying DE bc they get so many requests for it.

Its this powder that you can get in 25 and 50lb bags and you sprinkle it onto your coop/stall floor and helps keep down the ammonia smell and absorbs moisture. It apparently works wonders on pet accidents in the house too. You only use a cup or two on some pretty big areas.. I'm pretty excited about it!! It'll definitely come in handy during those humid summer months!

I use Stall Dry from TSC and like it. I have heard Sweet PDZ is good too, just haven't tried it. I thought I just saw a big bag of Food grade DE at Family Farm & Home in Mason. I was surprised!

I was lucky to find DE at my local Family Farm and Home last summer. I am pretty sure I could get it there again when I need it. I looked at TSC and the local co op and they had no idea what I was talking about.
