Olive, so sign of cochins laying yet.

:fl But hopefully not too much longer.

I plan to put some mixed eggs (EE & hybrids) in the 'bator Friday. Curious what the mixes will look like. The roo is a white/gold duckwing EE and the hens are Red and Black Sex links.

What a bunch of slackers, they are! LOL! No problem. I can be patient. Would prefer to have them when it's warmer out anyway. I forget, was I supposed to be getting hatching eggs or chicks?

HillbillyHen -- I thought of you when I got the mail today. I grabbed it on my way back in from lunch and when I saw the package, a medium sized brown box, I thought hmmm, what's that and then I looked at the return address. Seeds! Got the rest of my seeds today and they had to be shipped in a box because there are far too many to fit in even a large manilla envelope. Mind you this is the second order of seeds and only right around half for this year and doesn't count the 15 dozen onion plants that should be shipped up here the last week of March/first of April.

Tell your hubby I said "See! It's a sickness! It can't be helped."

I think that DH is a bit disapointed that I won't be planting a garden this year. He loves all the fresh green beans, squash and tomatoes. I have hardly even put a dent in the green beans that I put in the freezer from last summer and the same goes for the zuchinni patties.

I lied. I'm still here. Seriously going back to work in "just a minute" though...

I used the last of our green beans from last year one night last week. I couldn't believe it. I put up a LOT. I don't know if we've been eating more (kids are growing, probably failed to account for their increased appetites...) or what. But we're out.

If we get together before it warms up I would very much. I'll gladly compensate you for them. Store bought is not the same!

It may be early..... I got the call from the Post Office first thing this morning.
Baby Chicks Peeping. Ordered from Meyer Hatchery through MyPetChicken.com.

Ten little Girls, 6 White Leghorns v& 4 Plymouth Barred Rocks to add to the flock.

Last Spring was my 1st year at this and I purchased from the local Tractor Suppy.

They don't get chicks in until the end of March. I wanted an earlier start this year.....

wishtofish, you just cannot post about getting new chicks and not post a pic of said chicks

Good luck with them, I too am excited to get some new ones but am trying to wait, it's not easy though

Whichever you want, although because I just have the one partridge hen, your pickings are pretty slim. Not a lot of eggs or chicks for true partridge to be had.

I did get 1 cochin egg today (yea!) but I'm not sure who laid it. It'll go in the 'bator on Friday morning.
