Maybe we should think about having a Vent-Sexing seminar at our Chickenstock this year!!

I've been wing sexing mine and have had good results so far. I wish chicks were as easy as the harliquin ducks!! A different color anything would be nice!

I would like to learn vent sexing too. My current method is at about 75%. (eyes, feathers, head shape, size etc.) That might be something the Michigan Poultry Fanciers would add to Fowl Fest. I hope to be at Spring fest with my dd showing her nankin banty roo.

If I'm able to make it to chickenstock I would be happy to teach anyone who wants to learn how to vent sex -- provided of course they have birds there on which to practice. If I come I probably won't have many, if any, birds with me.

I'll have some chicks then (as long as my hatches go well)...maybe we can just practice with one of those stress things shaped like animals...you know...you squeeze it and that stuff comes out the back?!?!

I have a better idea. I'll hatch a batch of chicks specifically for the Chickenstock Vent Sexing Seminar that not only can you all practice on, you can take home for free... all I ask in return is that Jen brings me two baby Belgian Hares. One male, one female, unrelated.

Sounds like a fair trade to me.

I'll bring some along for you to play with, how about that?

(Do you just want a pet?)

YES! Bring some for me to play with. And if one comes up missing. IT WASN'T ME!!!!

Yes, I just want a pet. I just LOVE the looks of the Belgians. I wouldn't mind seeing how one dresses out either. (Hopefully that doesn't offend you. I don't mean to. )

Naw, doesn't bug me at all. I don't discriminate...I eat my pets.

(well...at least the dogs and cats know they're safe!!) I have a friend who's mounting one of my hares and using a 4pt rack to turn her into a Jackalope for me!! I've never tried dressing out a hare before...I would guess there would be quite a bit of meat through the loin and thighs, but not much more then that as they are fine bone and only about 7-9lbs full grown. My english lops dress out very nicely! Super awesome meat. I should have some culls around that time if you're wanting some rabbit meat. I have hare litters on the ground and more on the way so I'll see what I can do about bringing you a pet. (it won't be able to show or breed)
