Sleepyhead? I've already been up for 3 hours and the 2nd pot of coffee is made. I've gone from only being able to hear the rain to being able to watch it and neither one fills my heart with joy. If it keeps raining like this I may have to see if it's possible to attach a mower to my boat.

Tomorrow I'm going to see what will happen with selling eggs from my front porch. I've got a sign for the road, a sign for the small refrigerator that asks for people to leave what ever they consider to be a fair price, and a metal box for them to put their donation towards my feed costs. Hopefully this isn't a mistake but I tired of giving them away and right now I have 9 dozen to start with.

36 days until Chickenstock

Good morning everyone. Well, I guess it's good. Hard to be optimistic with all this rain and flooding

I think I may have to reseed my garden after all this. Grrrrrrrrrr!

I just thought I would mention on here also that we posted our American Lavender Gander on the for sale page. He's a one year old gorgeous guy BUT does not get along with our RP Tom. We've had the Tom longer and all really love him. He looks like he's been through the plucker though because our Gander beats him up constantly and rips out his feathers. Hubby said that the Gander has got to go so...

I hope everyone stays dry today!

Make sure you have a way that people cannot help themselves to your donations or you may find that each dozen eggs comes with a cash bonus.

There is a person near here who sells KOI the same way!!! He has a huge tank out there by the road with a net and a sign that says "3.00- Please leave money in the box". I hope nobody takes his money.

Sam, if you figure out how to hook a mower to your boat- I bet the DNR would hire you, or perhaps the coast guard...think of all the seaweed you could mow down....

LoveMyChicklets,

He is gorgeous! I hope you find him a wonderful home!

My gosling is only about four weeks old- and there is ONE cockerel who he has a vengeance against. I tried to pair him up with this little chick for companionship, but the chick tried to peck his eyes out and peck his feet. So, weeks later, my goose is ready to even the score. He grabs the chest feathers of the cockerel and twists and wont let go- so I have to make sure their paths do not cross. My gosling does not do this to any other bird out there. I figure he remembers how mean he was to him.

Maybe he does! My two go at it so bad sometimes and I physically have to separate them. I feel so bad or the tom. He's so friendly, he was my boyfriend at one time ;0 Had picked me as his mate! Goofy thing!

I put an ad on CL for these ducklings- and I swear, as soon as I clicked "post" someone emailed me. He asked me for my phone number and he wants all 9 babies.

Seems very knowledgeable, an Army somebody...told me where he lives but I cant remember...oh Memphis. Two of his three females were chased out into the road by over-zealous males and run down. He is in the process of putting up a fence, and will have time to do that- because these babies are only a week and 1/2 old and need the heat lamp/brooder still.

Will drive out here on Sunday with his wife and kids.

He called back and said his wife already found a bunch. Easy come. easy go. I just know I am going to have 567 ducks and nobody interested in them. I am not letting them ever hatch again.

I'll have to pass on the muscovies. I think I've reached my flock limit, not enough space. I need a 40 acre spread.

On another note: let the birds out at daybreak; the ducks ran straight to the pond. Watching a duck "run" is a guaranteed belly laugh. So here I am, in my jammies, in the rain, watching ducks run, laughing my ass off and the 8-week old leghorn roo starts to crow.

At least he tried. Sounded like a rusty hinge. That made me laugh even more.

So if dancing brings the rain, maybe laughing will make it go away. Let's all have a good laugh today and bring the sunshine back.

Keep us posted- I am interested to know how it goes. Thanks.

they sell for about 1.25 to 1.50 by me, our neighbors who sell them cant seem to keep a full fridge. One neighbor has a cute note on the fridge with some fun egg facts...things like "why is my egg green" and info about why you shouldnt wash your eggs
