Baklava fits quite well in the most important food group......... SWEETS. Remember always eat dessert first while you have room.

Good morning as well!
Keyt- I have no idea. Good luck. When do they start eating- 24- 48 hrs? Maybe they will perk up then?

Our in-laws stopped by last evening while our chickens were out free ranging in the yard. They had their big, dumb dog with them and let him out of the car. He went straight for the birds, of course. By the time anyone noticed, he had our barred rock in his mouth, birds were scattered everywhere, and feathers were flying. I couldn't find many of them, but after a couple hours, all but our 12 week old white silkie came home. Our barred is limping. I was hoping the silkie would come home at dusk, and then I hoped that she would come home in the morning when she heard Henry, our rooster. But no, she's gone. Always the favorites, right?

I wasn't there, but my husband was scrambling to get the ducks in, and gather the chickens up while his parents were trying to catch their dog. Must have been a sight. One of our rabbits lost her entire litter of seven kits last week, and then she died too. So, our kids have been getting an education in the life cycle. It's a hard one for little people, but they are taking it in stride. The silkie was my daughter's special bird. It would ride around on her shoulder. Such is life.

Sounds like she probably retained a kit.

Sorry about all your bad luck, hope things get better!

I am so sorry to read that Henny.

I wish we could free range but the people in my sub let their dogs roam. Plus our mangy rescue would think nothing of terrorizing and killing our girls if the opportunity ever presented itself.
