hmmmm I just got back from picking up pepper plants. Maybe I should recount them. Or just maybe Opa, they multiplied like Mogwai when you watered them. Just don't feed them after midnight :: chuckle :: (obscure Gremlin reference...sorry I couldn't help myself)

I have pepper plants and tomatoes to plant, along with a couple of cherry trees.

Happy 2 week birthday to my newest additions.

The yellow one is definitely Pekin cross. She's HUGE!! She was my first duckling hatch, the other one is the one I had to help out of the egg after it took 3 days to hatch. He's tiny and looks just like one of my call boys did last summer. He looks just like him...which has recently made us wonder if my little Sammy is female. You can't tell by his tail because his feathers have always been wonky.

Another beauty of a day! Hot but cut 5 acres, trimmed, weeded, and did some more constuction on a new rabbit hutch. The birds were loving life too cause I claeaned out their coop in the AM, fresh straw, fresh grit, and worms.

Geez Keyt, those ducks are so darn cute! What a beautiful sunny low humidity day!

Went to church then came home and did some house cleaning. I have incredible neighbors. Carol and Dave came over and while Carol was helping me clip toenails on my little female demon Crestie, Dave was fixing my lawn mower.

Turns out there was a cotter pin missing from the parking brake assembly and after he unjammed it and put the pin in it works great! Now I can finally mow, except I think were supposed to get three days of rain and thunder showers.

Figures. When Opa said a good morning is when you have a cup of coffee and a pulse it made me think that a good day is when I let 32 chickens out to free range and count 32 when I put them to bed.

Went to 3 open houses today, kids I have known since they started grade school, I feel so old..lol. Anyone that has no hope for the future hasn't met these kids.. One full scholarship to Western for Anthropology, one going into the Army into the Patriot missile program and one going into farming at MSU or agri science as she calls it..lol.
I have ended the day feeling so blessed to have been part of theses kids lives. Smart caring hard working children, there parents and this community does good work.
Planted peas today ALOT of peas...ug.
