Yesterday was brutal working on getting the garden ready to plant. Today a little better with lower humidity, but still sweated out buckets. Now, I can focus on the front flower garden. That's a mess! Pretty flowers, but don't look down and see all the grass and weeds.
I have my garden planted too!! Wellll in all fairness I've been had it planted just half of it died once ibrought them out into the real world. So I had to replace them today. :: sigh :: oh well.
The weather has been so crazy I should have expected major loss of my little seedlings.
We had lots of kiddies at the house the weekend which equals lots of wasted food. Our chickens were super spoiled with all of the picked over food, especially the half eaten sweet corn lol.
Has anyone heard from vicki and know if she's ok? I know she was selling her stock and I told her I wanted BLRW hens. I haven't heard from her in forever. She lives not too far from me. I really hope she's ok!
Thought i'd peek in and say hi. We're transplanting to MI early next year.
The ducklings are lovely, but I gotta ask, what the heck is an open house? out here it's when you sell your home, but it sounds more like a graduation party?
Last month Boyd used "blow dirty" to mean failing a DUI test, I won't explain what it means in SoCal, but you could say for a few moments we were both horrified.
Any other Mich terms I should learn before moving out?

Hi! Remember that "soda" here is referring to baking soda and the word for coke, pepsi, etc is POP!!
Good morning everyone...
Still waiting on surgery date for hubby...my best friend from childhood came up last night for a few days! I gave her a tour of all the chicks and chickens and the garden. We always have such a good time together. Big news here...I'm getting A MANTIS tiller tomorrow!!! I am so OVER hoeing my veggie garden. They asked if I had ever received any information on the Mantis and I said "yes" but it had been a while. They still had my information on file...it was 21 years ago!!! That is how longggggg I've waited for one! And Yes...I'm OLD as dirt.
60 yrs. old as dirt in fact. I think I've waited long enough for my Mantis and the price never did come down!
That Mantis tiller will sure make gardening a lot easier. While I don't have a Mantis I do have a small Honda with a 10" tiller. I plan my row spacing based on that width and it sure helps speed up keeping the weeds out.
sixty is not older than dirt. I consider sixty year old women to still be sweet young things.
I'm a big fan of power tools. As a former engineer, I'm fascinated by any device that makes it easier to get things done.
Coop cleanings get dumped in the driveway then I pick them up with the shredder vac before they go to compost.
Maybe I should start thinking about an automatic coop cleaner...
