Mama Mallard BAD!
smack.gif

After stealing the babies and playing Mama for the day, she flew off and left to go whereever she goes at night. Left six mallard babies in the middle of my POND!!!!!!!
I had to wade and use two kids and a net to catch them all and lock them up tonight, beat the storm by mere minutes.

THEN I checked on broody scovy- and I had guessed her eggs to hatch first week of July..well they are hatching now. I counted ten and several more half-out. I saw all these egg shells and said, OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....but surprise- not broken eggs, babies!

Tonight while sitting and watching a storm roll in, we were watching the chickens. We have two Welsummers, both of which don't take anything from anyone! Well for the last few days one of them has begun biting roosters in the neck if they crow

If she's not near them when they crow she will chase them down! I've even seen her come out from inside the coop and chase them down before. I think she knows I'm sick of hearing those two!! LOL I love my Welsummers, I hope to get more some day!

Our roosters are all named "that pain in the a** rooster of yours" because they're all Aric's and won't ever shut up. Seriously! Except for my little serama roo, he's named Pretty Boy because he walks around like he knows pretty and no one (not even the huge loud mouth BLRWs) messes with him, and all the ladies (even the huge cochins) love him!

All the ducks have names of course because they're mine lol

I have a serama rooster named the same exact thing!

Well, if yours is anything like mine, he rules the roost, even as tiny as he is and he walks around like he's the prettiest one out there!

So here is what I hope to bring to chickenstock
big_smile.png
:
- 5 (now 3) muscovy ducklings
- a ton of millie fleur duccle chicks
- some golden laced sebrights younger and older
- 10 or so sebastopol youngsters and goslings
- 8 easter egger young roosters
- 7 seramas (all spoken for)
- some old english chicks
- some barnyard mutt chicks

I am hoping that I won't come home with anything except for maybe a few runner ducklings and a few chickens.

I will be bringing 3 seramas (1 roo, two hens) for you!

They are still youngsters, but I can already tell that they are going to be quite small.
