We could take up a collection for you........

I've never worked this hard to raise money lol
I've posted the same 5 ads in craigslist every day for 2 weeks now. My egg sales have been almost non-existent for a week and a half. Had SSI not cut me for 2 months (still won't tell me why) and it didn't take 3 months to get the money back I'd be great!

Usually I don't care that much about money because I don't have a mortgage, very little in utilities and only other thing we need money for is gas (which is getting so much better woohoo) and feed. But this chickenstock thing is major to me for several reasons. Plus I can rarely leave the house lol

Seriously, if you can get there, I'll give you some gas money to get home on.
Hubby gave me $100 to take, but I saved my last allowance also so I have at least 50 more.
Im only looking to find some Chanteclers or Delawares and I don't think I'll find either as they are both critical I think.

Aww that's so sweet. Wow, $100 to me is like $1,000 to anyone else!! I couldn't let you do that. I'm a hard worker and very determined to get the money. There are very few things I want or even need at chickenstock, but i don't like going to places like that without money just in case...

Meanwhile...note to self: when it's feeding time, don't walk into an already muddy duck run after several huge rain storms with shorts and flip flops.... Enough said

Oh we're getting hammered here too!! I was out working on putting some tin sheets over one end of my chicken hut I made and it started to sprinkle. I thought "Oh well, it'll let up" and I want to finish this so I kept working. I started raining a little harder, and getting in my eyes but I kept working thinking it would let up. Pretty soon buckets were coming down and I had to step back into the pole barn and drop the door a bit and wait it out. It wouldn't let up, so I closed up and went in the house, dried off, removed soaked tee and shorts. And the sun popped out. I put all the wet stuff back on and went back out to finish and it poured again! Second time I really did quit for the night. Had my shower and I ain't going back out no more, except to feed chickens and ducks for the night.
We've gotten almost 1 whole inch since it started last night before 10 pm

well, I'll have my grand-daughter with me and I'll hafta feed her and possibly take Grandma out to eat when we stop at her place on the way home.

Advice needed...I am, simply put, a driving wimp.

I just did a Mapquest search from Ann Arbor to Chickenstock.
I am familiar with the I-94 route to exit 138, no problem there.
Is there anything I should know about the I-127/I-496/I-69 portion of the drive? With I-496 & I-60 appearing to be short potions of the journey and I, as a wimp, would prefer to stick to the Mapquest driving directions.
Any large delays due to roadwork?
Anyone familiar w/ the area willing to PM me their cell # in case I get myself lost? I am having anxiety just thinking about the trip!

All day yesterday it threatened rain. It was really dark almost all day. It rained for about 10 minutes last night and that's it. It rained first thing this morning when we got up to let the gang out but it cleared up. I had to go to Charlotte to the dentist and the farther into town we got, the darker it got. We got on top of a hill and could see rain coming down. We counted 9 people on riding mowers and joked they're gonna get soaked. Sure enough, seconds later it came down in buckets. But it's done that, rain then cleared up 8 times since noon. But the runs are mud puddles. Not that the ducks mind of course. But if someone comes to buy the chickens I have for sale on craigslist, they'll have to take them water logged because I'm not about to wring them out LOL
