So sorry for those, including Raz & Hillbilly Hen who had storm damage.

here's how I've gotten my chicken Cathedral now.

In one pic I threw a blanket over it cause I had the chicks out in it while I worked on it, it was to shade them some:

then the next pic shows it with a blue tarp attached over it, which I didn't like so I started putting tin sheets on it:

and the final outcome as of yesterday, shows the inside where I've built up a slight living quarters for them, it's drafty, but I understand they need ventilation more than shelter, still don't have a pic with the tin sheets on it:

ALot of it was finished with stuff hubby had laying around. I haven't put alot more money into it than the first $74 spent on the pressere treated lumber for the bottom frame, chicken wire, and the 4x4 remesh it's attached to, except for the hinges and door latche and lock.

It was pretty cheap to make.

the bottom frame measures 5.5' x 7'

I needed "something else" for a place to quarenteen anything new I bring in, and it would make a good grow out cage for maybe 6-8 babies, or up to 4 bigger birds if I want to put them someplace else in the yard, but I can no longer move it by myself.

Yeah, it would still be hard to find space for something that small lol
Chicken coop/run...duck coop/run...pot belly pig coop/run...dog run, 2 houses all on a little more than a half acre. Our front yards and the side yard of one house aren't used. I keep threatening to use them but I get the evil look from Aric lol

If we go to chickenstock and he finds his jersey giants, that will probably change. Some day I hope to have a goat or two as well lol

Janice,
I'm coming from Garden City but if you want to ride with me, it would not be a problem to swing by A2. I'll PM you my number.

Oh geez RaZ, I'm so sorry to hear that. Neighbors can be hard to live with, especially if you have animals. That's why I have always lived in the country with neighbors as far away as possible. Except where I live now. I have 5 acres, but it's deeper than it is wide. In the summer I can't see any houses because of the woods between us, there is a huge gravel pit across the road and I have a mile of woods behind my house, but I can hear my neighbors on the sides and they can hear my roosters. The good thing is they both are very much animal people, have dogs and love my chickens. I talked to them before I got my roosters and they were fine with it. In fact both neighbors take turns helping me if I need someone to "chicken sit" if I'm gone over night for any reason and they bring over kitchen scraps for them all the time. Of course they will both get free eggs when the chickens start laying. My totally ideal situation would be what Fife has. How I envy her, but she's right, it's hard to get help when you need it when you live that far out. Please keep us posted on the situation RaZ, we're all rooting for you.

Thanks, Chickmate.
And thank you to the Michigan folks who have offered to help rehome these birds. The ducks and BAs have a place and hopefully all of the Buffs.
Nobody wants the leghorns, it seems. Truth be told, I don't care for them myself. A friend will take them until they are old enough for the stock pot as a last resort.
That just leaves 3 BSL pullets. Since they are girls, I wonder if I can hide them in the garage...
