It was a geat Chickenstock! Thank you to everyone who made it possiable! Came home dead even (or maybe ahead on how you look at it) sold 3 hens, re-homed 2 ducks and gave Gandalff the Grey Rooster and the hen who adopted him a GREAT home with Keyt and Aric. Took home 5 chicks, only $5 behind but I know all the birds sold went to a good home. If anyone was there and left hungry its thier own fault. So much good food! I really liked the broccli salad and the Lentel salad. To who ever was manning the grill the whole time THANK YOU! I didn't catch your name and I wanted to help out but every time I was about to go over there there was someone asking about the birds we had.

We came home to an incubator FULL of chicks and still more pip'in, this is going to make up for the birds we lost and then some to the dog/fox attack that took 17 mature laying hens 4 weeks ago.

It was a great time and I can't wait until next year, or if someone gets one going on the western/northern side of the state. That would make for a good weekend trip! I know there have been talks about it, I would love to go on a camping/chickenstock trip!

P.s. please forgive me any spelling/typing errors, I dont have the nifty brouser that dose it for you installed yet on this computor

Wow, what a great day!! Came home with more animals than I had planned!! A rabbit, seramas, mille fleurs, white silkie (wanted one for a long time!), polish, jersey giant chicks for Aric's birthday (whew, glad thats outta the way lol) and we took in a BCM and oh, if you all saw that MASSIVE rooster with the welsummer hen in the back of the green truck, we took them too! Also a female rabbit THANKS TONS to Kim

Also on the way home we picked up a leghorn because a lady called me last week who was giving a bunch away on CL and she had one left. While we were there, we got a great deal on feed at Family Farm and Home and while I was there i saw my best friend from elementary school. So to say it's been a successful day is an understatement.

Also sold half of my chicks!

But came home to more chicks hatched lol

Took us a hour to get everyone settled but everyone seems happy. That big rooster, Gandalf (LOVE the name!!) is a huge hit here. The other ladies are doing great.

I'm exhausted though. I'm not a morning person at all. I'm really hungry but I'm too tired to eat anything so I think I need a nap. I didn't get as many pics as I wanted because I so busy meeting people or looking at animals but I got quite a few. I'll have them uploaded in the next day or two.

If anyone has facebook and would like to add me, my email address is [email protected]

Thanks Opa and everyone else!!!

We have him and his lady in a big brooder. On the other side is everyone else. Our little serama, Pretty Boy and Gandalf had a stand off. It was hilarious because Pretty Boy isn't half his size! LOL. We had neighbors come and check him out. He's definitely a big hit here. Until we get another run just for him and his lady (he's also taken a liking to the BCM we got from Nigellas) and maybe a few more, he's going to be taking turns with our BLRW roo to be outside. We hope to have the other run built by next weekend. One thing is for sure, Aric is beyond excited to have him. He's had people come over just to look at him!! lol Thank you!!!

What a wonderful turn out we had!! Glad to see old friends and so happy to make new. The food was out of this world. So many beautiful chickens, roos, ducks, geese and rabbits!! The kids all behaved and I think we all had a great time. Can't wait for next year!!

Keyt,

Thank you and (Aric too) for taking Gandalff and his girl, she not a welsummer, shes a black jersey giant roo x buff orp. hope we didn't mislead you....but I am glad that she is starting to work out.....the boys will take a bit of time, if they ever will get along. Like we said if there is any issues with keeping him we will help out in any way we can, he has been "teaching" all the hens in the grow out pen what roosters do without the breeding them. Kind of a surrogate father to the young ones at our house until he could be re-homed. I know he has a good home now but if it doesn't work out, E-mail me and we will work something out

We are VERY HAPPY to have him in a new home where he won't be picked on. Oden (our black biant roo) and Gandalf just wouldn't get along any more

wonderful time!

All of you are so fantastic- I cant think of a better way to spend an afternoon than with such great friends and family and birds, of course!

Great to see everyone.

My daughter is in love with the goose- her name is Penelope. Henry is less than enthused about her. Hopefully she grows on him. Kayla has asked to sleep outside with Penelope. I said No, hopefully she listens.

The two silkies were loud at first but seem to have settled in. Frizzle was fine with having some friends.

My spoiled daughter Tiffany is totally in love with the bunny- she named him Nester. My spoiled daughter now has a spoiled bunny and he is all set up in a NEW hutch ("Mom the other hutch is OLD and its gross) (no, it wasnt)... toys, treats, hay, feed, water...and he is ready to relax.

The wonderful little Showgirl and Turken and cochin friends are doing fine- I had this idea that I would set them up outside in a brooder with their heat lamp but they are so tiny- and fragile- I am going to put the cage in my kitchen....I have informed them all that they must be girls.

If my husband throws me out for all these new additions- well, i will just move out into the yard.

The food was absolutely AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG....and THIS year I brought some of Sam's chicken HOME yay me!

Thank you all for everything. Absolutely wonderful time.

Oh sorry. My memory is terrible. No problem, she's beautiful whatever she is. He won't get picked on here because soon he's going to have his own little run with his own set of ladies. Aric has it all planned out. It was planned out before we even got home lol.

Poor Aric lost his "mancave" when we started keeping chickens again a little over a year ago. He said he's more than happy to give up what little space he has left for his buddy until he can build him his own run. I told him well, we always have an empty house next door, just let him and his ladies go live there

No seriously, he's very popular here. When Aric gets Gandalf's run and coop built I'll post pics

As expected it was wonderful seeing folks from Chickenstocks past and having the oportunity to meet all the new people. It really added up to making today a great success. I tried to get around and meet everyone and if I missed you I can assure you it was unintentional and a great loss on my part. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with everyone.

I think everyone was pleased with how the day went and as in years past the food was exceptional. If anyone went home hungry it was because they wanted to. I know I had difficulty trying decide what I wanted to try first.

According to the signin book we had 62 BYCers there today but I think there was a few that neglected to sign in. Based on the book count we had 112 people attend but after talking with several different people I'm sure the number was at least 150+.

The donations to our drawing table were very generous and every one went home with something. Thank you everyone.

So all of my chicken lovin' friends the sun will soon be setting on what was a wonderful day and I thank each and everyone of you for having made it so.

It sounds like everyone had a terrific time.....I am really looking forward to seeing the pictures!!! Just curious...who had Jersey giant chicks to sell??

It would be great to have a chickenstock up in the N..W. part of Michigan but I really don't think we would get the numbers to show that you get in your present location. Did you have Ohio and Indiana people come too??

I know you are all exhausted from your busy day and now have to settle in your new acquistions...so I will be patient and wait for pictures and more stories.
