Well, Aric didn't do his usual of sitting with me for coffee. He was right outside getting supplies around to first put another addition to the rabbit hutch for the new lady, then he'll be working something out for Gandalf. Before he got started, he did some chicken arranging. He felt bad that Gandalf was inside (even though I told him it was temporary) so he traded places with the big BLRW roo and Gandalf. Well it wasn't long before my quiet, never pays attention to anyone cochin roo was being pounced on by Gandalf (who makes the cochin roo look tiny lol). SO, now that one is in with the ducks. But they're still facing off through the fence lol

Nitefyre and Uncle Bubba- Gandalf's female does look different now that I see her in the light (I was too busy with my other chicks to look at her too closely yesterday) but she and the Welsummer do look a lot alike. I'll have to get pics of them side by side.

Hillbilly Hen - Now that I know what those aprons are I'll have to invest in some soon. I have several hens that have bare backs so now they're living with the ducks til their feathers grow back!

Nigellas - The hen is settling in really nicely. Although I saw her steal a bunch of eggs that were in a corner that one of the silkies was on yesterday. Not sure if the silkie got tired of sitting on them or what so I'm glad she took over!

It was somebody with a name of "initials and numbers", but I can't remember them, something like RLS49 or something, wish I could remember, maybe they'll answer this so I can jot it down. I have pics of them in my album. Man in red t-shirt, sitting.

Theron..... I mis understood mom explaining it- the grandparents go to mom's church & are taking the 3 new hens down to their grandaughter in KS that lives on a farm with camels & exotics. So the the millie fluer duccle pullet from you, the millie fluer w/ white bantam cochin pullet, & the silkie hen are all going to make that trip down in about a month (they are chillin at mom's farm til then)

Had a GREAT time at Chickenstock, so happy to meet some of you, great food too. Thank you so much Opa and everyone who helped organize this.

Went home with 2 5-day old Golden Sebright chicks from Theron. I have a hen siiting on 4 eggs right now (that came from FarmerBoy16) though I'm pretty sure only three are developing. I've left the fourth egg there 'cause I'm a little unsure, but really I should just get over this denial thing and remove it. Anyway, it's day 16 for those eggs, so when/if they hatch, I'm going to try to slip the two Sebrights under the broody too (the eggs she's sitting on are large fowl. so the Sebrights won't be much different in size by then). If Edna, the broody, doesn't accept them they can go back in my brooder, but I'm hoping they'll be one big happy family.

Theron, the 2 chicks are doing well. I put a stuffed animal in the brooder box with them since there's only 2 and they're so tiny. They spend a lot of time cuddling/hiding under the stuffed animal (I say it's a llama, DH thinks it's a monkey, so just use your imagination LOL) but they are eating and drinking enthusiastically when they're awake. I am getting ready to buy their love with a little bit of scrambled egg.

Chickmate, I came so close to going home with Warf. Just not ready to take on something else with the new babies and more on the way. Also, may end up with several cockerels of my own between the Sebrights and the eggs getting ready to hatch. But he is so lovely!

Anyway, very happy to have gone to Chickenstock and have enjoyed Keyt and ChicwannaB's photos. Already looking forward to next year!

I LOVE them!! Hey, where do you live in case I want more?? lol
Seriously, I love all your birds!!!

Thank you! We live in Sanford, MI. It is by the tri cities(midland, saginaw, baycity) Yea. Feel free to let me know when you want more. If we had more room in our truck, we would have brought some more chicks along with some button quail. No room with all of the geese though

Theron, you live in Sanford? We have a cabin on Wixom Lake! I don't get up there as much since I moved over here, but my daughter and son-in-law are up there all the time. I wanted to come over and meet you and look at your birds but didn't get to walk around much. I never knew until I saw some of Keyts pictures that there was so much for sale like soap and alpaca yarn, etc. I would have loved to have gotten a few hens but can't add anything until I figure out how to section off part of my coop and add a new run. I'd like some silkies and bantams but with my set up now the big birds would pick on them. Sorry I didn't get to meet you!
