that sounds very exciting! I haven't see my brother in nearly 6 years, I cannot imagine what you were going through.

Thats is soo cool. I have been trying to start the process of finding my birthparents, but it is even difficult to figure out where to begin. Do you know if your brother ever knew about you and the rest of the family or is this all new too him too? That is really great and I hope it all works out wonderfuly for you guys:ya

this really hits home for me, we have two adopted kiddos and I know they have at least 6 bio (full bio) siblings out there, if not more. I know one day they will be interested in finding them so early in the adoption process I gathered as much info on the family as possible to make finding them easier...I got a FULL family tree and pictures, birth dates of all the siblings that I know of..etc.
I am so happy for you, I pray your reunion is wonderful and a blessing!!

I had a chance to meet Hillbilly Hen today...wonderful wonderful wonderful....I left with a dozen fertile eggs and a lavendar orptington cockerel...totally excited, the kids already named him Free Willy. He seems to be getting on just fine, he is bunkered down with one of my older hens who seemed to love on him instantly, they are sharing a nesting box haha. Pictures to come later..hopefully.

I moved my super broody to a brooder today and she is all colors of crazy in there...not happy with me ONE bit...hoping she settles down and takes a breather. Any tips??? I put another broody in another brooder with eggs, shes not nearly as mad but as of 20 min ago she was still not sitting on the eggs...

fingers crossed.

I know a little bit of a medical history and remeber being told that I have brothers and sisters. It's not even that I really want a relationship with my bio parents, but I was born in 85, so the health care stuff has come soo far that I would lik an updated health history and to know the little things like who I look like or what am I gonna look like when I am 50. My parents weren't supposed to be able to have kids when the adopted me and then mom got pregnant. My sister looks just like my mom and its that kind of stuff I want to know.

Not really sure how much he knew. About 15 years ago we had a call a few days before Christmas and on the caller ID it said Neil Harrington. So I took the number to the state library and found an address and wrote to it, just a basic info kinda thing, but never heard back. My dad wrote around the same time but he received a msg saying basically he had the wrong person and to leave him alone. Odd. Neil told my dad on the phone last week his mother told him she thought my dad still lived in California, but my dad hasn't lived there since 68. Not sure if he knows about me yet since my dad says they're just talking basic stuff now.

That's great that you got all the info for them, a lot of adoptive parents don't. I think adoption is wonderful as I've seen it done many times having worked in foster/child care most of my life with the family. A good portion of those kids are now adults with their own kids which is something I get to see almost every day on facebook and it warms my heart!!

well...we're back from vacation and doing well here! At some point in time I'll try to go back through the posts from the last week and see what I missed...if there was a comment directed towards me just let me know what it was! (wasn't ignoring anyone, just was on the beach without a laptop lol) Well, Dashboard Chicken had some fun times on vacation and wanted to share!
We stopped in West Virginia for some yummy truck-stop breakfast...

Dashboard loved visiting the Battleship NC...although he still thinks he should have gotten to fire one of those big guns!

Dashboard got some sand in his unmentionable places while at the beach, but still had fun watching everyone jumping the waves and building sandcastles
