I know I could go for a cold beer right about now! And it is very science, brewing beer is definitely chemistry. I find beer brewing very fun and the end product worth it!

How much do I care about my rabbits?....enough to carry ALL of them to the nice cool basement last night so that this week they don't fry to a crisp!

They'll have to live in their carriers, but it's bettter then heat stroke! Oh...and by ALL of them I mean all like 50+ of them....

After a month of cold shoulder from my former friend and neighbor, I find that she is still holding a severe grudge. I wonder...how long an "adult" can act like a junior high, pissy girl. I'd laugh, but it is sad.

Hmmm....I wonder if maybe it has less to do with the chickens and trees and more to do with your friendship. You know the saying"" A woman scorned...." No reply needed...just a thought!

Man, I wish I could have a beer right now. Between the baby I'm growing and the fact that I can't have gluten (which includes barley, malt, etc), I'm pretty much out of luck. I've seen alcohol free and gluten free beer, but never one that was both.

My last broody Java is still hanging in there - I was hoping the heat would drive her off the nest, but these Javas of mine are seriously committed when it comes to being broody. I just need to round up some fertile eggs or babies to give her since she doesn't seem to be giving up. ugh. My other Java that has babies from Theron is still doing great with them - I can't get over how much smaller these bantam babies are from my others. So cute.

Hey RIRJenn and any other rabbit people... We are getting a baby lionhead bunny this weekend - Since this will be his first time away from his mama and siblings, how can I make the transition easier? I'm already feeling sad about how scared he'll be at first!

How old is it? Give it some toys but I wouldn't give it treats for the first couple weeks....I don't give mine treats until they are about 3 months old...and my idea of treats is a small handful of grass hay or half a piece of wheat toast.

If he's been socialized right then he should have no problem transitioning.

Too funny, Fife. But if she is scorned, she needs to talk to her hubby. I don't go into the married end of the pool.
I think it PO'ed her when I got my BO girls back from Nigellas (who was so nice to baysit for me).

Gluten free, non-alcoholic beer...I'll have to see if such a concoction is brewable.

So, I just got back in from letting my small flock out to free range...for the first time ever! The turkeys have always been so desperate to follow me out of the run, so with an hour of sunlight left, I let 'em out. I hope they'll put themselves to bed like normal so I won't have to round up chooks in the dark! I have my laptop where I can watch the yard, they are keeping close to the coop in a lil flock. This is exciting, but also nerve-wracking!
