My dog often hears/sees things during the night that make her go to our sliding door and growl warnings. We have deer around my place and I'm always hoping that's what she seeing. I know living out in the country it can be anything and a possum is one animal I could care less to see. Hopefully they won't end up back at your place!

I was 12 years old and my father told me to go to the garage to get something out of a wooden tool chest (which was really an old chest of drawers). When I opened the bottom drawer there was a loud hissing sound and I was face to face with a 'possom and her babies. It much looked like the image bethanyrae just posted. :: shivers :: I went hollering back into the house and after a few hours this momma moved on her marry way with her pups.

Who knows how long she was in our garage.

Hope's oldest son sent me a picture of a fish his daughter caught last night. While it shared some of the characteristics of a deep water bluegill it wasn't quite the same. He also sent pictures to the DNR and they responded with the answer, Piranha. Isn't that just lovely. Some doofus released it into their lake. I wonder how many others are there? According the the biologist they needn't be concerned as cold weather will kill them off. They told him if he catches any after October they want to know about it.

Hi Everyone,
It has been awhile since I have been on, but I have a favor to ask! I don't know if you have heard about a 93 year old man that lives in my town ( Milford )who has 3 chickens. He has been fighting with the Village Board to keep them. He took it to court on Tuesday and lost. He now has 60 days to get rid of them.

The judge is a buisness owner is Milford and has been trying to change it from the quaint town it is into a "destination" like Ann Arbor (Ann Arbor is allowed to have chickens) or Royal Oak. I will share a link to the story that channel 7 news did on him the other day. Not one of his neighbors object to them!!

This is a link to the story in our paper too! PLEASE READ!!!

I guess my favor is this. I would like to jam the village's email with people speaking out about how great chickens are and to politely let them know that they are elected officials who work for the people of our community.

ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!

Please let me know if you sent an email, just so I know if it is helping this wonderful elderly man. Who knows, it could be us next. We cannot let them take such a wholesome thing away from us!

Their email address is [email protected]
THANKS SO MUCH!!

FFC, I've sent my letter to the Village of Milford and hope others do as well. This is just the latest fiasco the Milford council and some businesses have pulled efforts to turn a once charming little village into a yuppified destination only the well heeled can afford.

Thanks so much, Sam! I knew that I could count on you! You are very influential on BYC and many people respect you. It makes me very sad to see what they are doing to the village. My husband was born and raised in Milford and I started coming here almost 25 years ago and while it still has a quaintness about it, I have to agree with you that they are trying to make it like Ann Arbor or Royal Oak. I would like to remind them that Ann Arbor allows chickens!! The judge in Archie's case owns SEVERAL businesses and properties and has been big on making it THAT DESTINATION. I knew when I saw his name, that Archie was in trouble. The mistake Archie made was trying to do the right thing and went to the council for permission, but that is just the type of guy he is. He is also one who likes to cause a stir and I know he won't back down. I am proud to help him in any way I can and THANK YOU for supporting his rights!! I am blessed to live in the Township and our Township Manager has vowed that he is going to fight tooth and nail to keep the township rural.
