I spent most of yesterday watching it rain and at times it came down quite hard. I sure am glad that I managed to get the grass mowed on Wednesday since there isn't a good weather forecast until at least Monday. I am hopeful that I will be able to press some apple cider tomorrow.

Anyone fom around the Muskegon area should check out the Braveheart Raptor Rehabilitation Center on Sweeter Road in Twin Lake. They have open house on Sunday 1-4 PM. I swung in yesterday after visiting my local chicken hatchery on the same road. I never knew it was there so I took a peek. All I can say is wow!

How's the local West MI peeps doing? After that last storm it's been quiet. I lost a massive cherry that I cut up yesterday for the people down the street to burn. At least it'll provide something for someone...

I am surprised to hear that you have had rain downstate. We have had nothing but crisp mornings, blue sky and warm afternoons. Absolutely perfect Michigan late summer weather.

As far as boiled eggs, I am always trying to "age" some to boil to make peeling easier, but it seems I am always giving them away. A friend told me the other day that if you salt the water it makes it easier. I boiled up the stash I found under a tree for the chickens, and I didn't want to use salt for those so I haven't tried it yet. Next time.

Well, I'm off to my weight-loss class tonight, another session is starting after 6 weeks off for summer break...I have feathers in my hair!!!

ChicwannaB, didn't you know that that is the style now?? Seriously. My DIL had her hair done and she showed me her feather in it. Then my sister's neighbor kid came over and she picked up a couple of feathers and took them home for her hair.

Yeah, I know. I did it on purpose. All the ladies in class, first thing they say to me...not Hi How Are You? But How's the Chickens doing?? hahaha mine are permanently clamped in, I have them attached to a leather thing with beads on it, then THAT slips onto a barrett and the barrett goes in the hair.
