Opa, my welsummer pullets should be laying soon, can't wait to see the beautiful eggs. Since I have delawares, Ams, and one speckled sussex I think a dozen eggs are really going to be pretty. Maybe I should get a white egg layer too...
Taprock that is one major molt, although she does look like someone was plucking her for the stewpot and got interrupted!
I've promised the kids a few more EEs next spring. We have a couple light OEs from our EE/BA accidental cross. I'd like to get a couple dark layers and a couple leghorns. It's not cost effective to have too many for the colors, but it is fun just for us.

FBCM! They are from the eggs I hauled back from San Diego. Hand carrying them through security was a hoot! It's my broody's first time so I don't have high expectations but I know the ones (4) she is sitting on were all moving around on day 10. The ones I was not so sure about I put in the incubator (also my first time). So it's all up in the air. So I could have 2 or 8 ....who knows.

LOL...wow. So no you know what your in for with that one. One of my silkies....who took soo extra long to lay a stinking egg is now broody. I think I may have gotten 5 eggs from her and now she is held up in the nest box. The other silkie decided it was a good time to molt (her fluffy tail....gone). Blueberry is sitting on eggs and the other two bantams havent started laying yet. So no cute bantam eggs for me.
