The poop board pics are great guys.... I'll have to discuss it w/ DH, he's hunting now but I know can we rig something up now by looking at the pics.
Olive Hill.... Thanks for the recipe, they sound great & simple to make.

Raz.... You look happier than a pig in sh*t (maybe I better say mud) with your new gal there!! lol Congrats

1muttsfan..... It's great that you took the pic.....always nice to put a face with the name!!

So do ya'lls chickens benefit from recipes gone wrong? I just made a pumpkin bread and for some reason it turned out like pumpkin flavored rubber. I've made it before (great success!) so I have no clue where I went wrong. Well, even if humans didn't get to enjoy it, the chickens sure loved it! They went to town like it was the best thing ever.

Raz - Congrats on you new bantees! I know you will love them. Mine are just plain wonderful. lol...you look smitten in that picture. Love it! Can't wait to see the eggs from these lovelys.

Grandma - Thanks! Did you notice my poor silkie behind the EE? She only has two tail feathers and her head is all spiny. She had a funky molt. I hope she grows those feathers back quicker because she just looks pathetic

There a chick - I may try that thunder vest. She is really driving me crazy. She's kept us up 2 nights and a row now. I'd just let her sleep in our room but I am allergic to her and she sheds way too much to be that near my bed and clothing. That was my comprimise with my DH. The bedroom is off limits.

Olive - I took one look at those dounuts and got on the treadmill....lol. I think I gained 5lbs looking at those wonderful yummies.

I hate when that happens. I also hate when you find a recipe that sounds oh-so good, the pic looks mouth watering delicious, you go ahead and make it, follow the recipe to a T and Blahhhhh........ not what you expected at all.

A word of warning about getting chickens from someone you met on the Mi-BYC thread...

The 2 lavander banties I got from 1muttsfan are seriously infected with mights!

They might be the smallest hens I've ever seen.
They might have the biggest personalities.
They might be calmest banties I've ever seen.
They might become house chickens.
They might just be the cuddliest chickens ever.
They might be the cutest birds ever.
They might just become my favourite birds.

I am mighty smitten.

This sums up all my baking experience! I'll stick to the stove top!

Haha, my baking tends to go pretty well. I guess flops are always part of life, though!

Oh, yes I do plan on breeding her as long as nothing happens to the roo.
Also, if you want to save money, look into making a cookie tin heated waterer. I have a couple of these and most of the winter I used a 40 watt bulb in it. Today I just picked up some thermo cubes and hopefully it will save me even more money since they won't stay on all the time.

More info on poop boards... I found a sheet of vinyl wall board at Menards for $15. It is 4ft x 8ft and can be cut with a utility knife if needed. It is very light weight and easy to handle.

Welcome CrazyCat! Glad you found us. As far as keeping your chickens warm, remember that they have feather coats on, just like the wild birds

I'm still not sure that they are really chickens. I think they are doves dressed up for Halloween. I don't think I've ever seen such small birds.
You can't see in the photos, but the ear tufts are way cool.
