Howdy-Doody!

I've been away from BYC for a while now! Time to catch up!

I was busy all last month getting ready for my ARBA nationals and here's a picture I wanted to share

My doe "Naughty Girl" did very well winning Best Opposite sex of Breed!

I spent this morning in the ER where I work cause my son woke up sounding like DarthVader mixed with a seal...poor baby has croup.

He's doing better but was very closed to being transferred to Sparrow Hospital...thankfully the Dr knows me well enough that he knew I would take Aaron back in if he got bad again.

Jen - sincerely hope your baby feels better. My son who is 15 yrs old is crouping away also today!

What a beautiful day! I spent it all outside. Welcome to all, Hope everyone was able to enjoy the day.

In my coop I have a spot that always get damp in front of the door and the concrete takes forever to dry out and then the pine shavings get gross. So I built a square frame to go right in front of the door inside the coop, where a door mat would be. I filled it full of sand. Sand doesn't get smelly when damp and I thought the girls might like it for winter sand bathing, I'll have to wait and see if it actually works or not.

Then I spent some time digging my carrots. I know I could leave them and cover them, but if I want some in the winter I don't want to have to wade snow and dig them up. So they are all nicely packed in coolers. I'm going to throw the tops and small ones out back to try lure the deer in closer for next week. Here are my huggin' carrots.

Hope everyone with kids feeling poorly and chickens ailing see a vast improvement.

It sure was a nice warm day! Hope everyone here got some sunshine!

Got the roof on the main coop done, so glad got that done! Although got my thumb smashed at least 5 times in the same spot with the hammer.

I will post pictures tomorrow of the coop, not my poor thumb.

Well I'm happy....I spent the afternoon outdoors. My chickens were happy too for they got to free range the whole afternoon also!


RIRJen.....congrats on your win at nationals, hope your little guy feels better soon. My son had croup when he was around the same age as your guy. I remember doing a lot of holding, cuddling, rocking and a having barking seal for a bed partner. They bounce back in no time.

Our garden is totally finished. Wish I had some extra carrots...lol My DD pulled what we had left and took them out to the barn for the horses.

Flat tire on the tractor and the manure is piling up. Not happy with service guys who stood me up twice

Yesterday was beautiful!!!! I was hoping today would also be gorgoeus but it didnt get frosty overnight. Clouds must have moved in so it might rain

. Bummer.
Have to work but hope to get out early!!!
