Had a nice Thanksgiving. My house was full of family...14 total. Wasn't bad I've had more. My chickens provided the entertainment after our meal. Kitchen is cleaned up, dishes in dish washer, couple of bachelors went home with a plate, DH & DS left to go hunting...fingers crossed they want that 10 point. Now it's just me & DD. Hope everyone isn't too stuffed. I had a few that seemed to be in a comma like state after they ate.

babygryl, aren't you supposed to swerve when trees jump out at you? Glad you are ok.


Only had 9 for dinner. And everyone left me with the clean up even though I worked last night, made the meal, and have to work tonight too! BUT, I did get the kitchen cleaned, the turkey picked clean enough and the carcass is in a bag for the chickens to pick over in the morning. They got peoples left overs off the plates tonight and turkey skins.


I love having the family to eat. I just wish they'd help clean up... At least take out the trash bag full of plates and cups and pie tins ect on the way out the door. BUT I can honestly say, I am even happier when its over and everyone is gone!


Here is what I am thankful for today...
My kids are healthy,
My house is warm,
Our bellies are full,
And lastly, but most importantly, I am thankful to GOD for everything I have been blessed with.

Rose may have fixed "torn pants" cookies but everything that Hope fixed in this house came very close to causing busted pants. Got the belt loose and the top button undone just in the nick of time. It's been 4 hours since dinner and I'm still trying to figure out a place to put dessert. Sure glad I had some last night.

My grand daughter and grandson unbuckled their pants trying to make room for dessert. Grandson did ok, but grand daughter only got a couple of bites down. Had 15 for dinner. Kitchen is finally cleand up and paper finally read. Tomorrow, I'm not doing anything! Good Night, sleep tight.

Thats cause yer grandkids have tight young bodies that dont expand! lol Mine requires elastic waist pants cause it changes dimensions

Thanks though. I am feeling much better today. A couple of advil and a heating pad go a long way.

With all that turkey yesterday I am assuming everyone is still sleeping.

Happy Black Friday....and Leftover Day! I was good and used my foodsaver to seal up a lot of the leftovers. However, I think my DH was sad that I sealed up alot of the cheesy potatoes. He was eating it right out of the dutch oven

Good morning Michigan!

I could barely waddle upstairs to get to the computer this morning after yesterdays feast! Our host made 3 pies and they were delicious!!
One of the highlights of Thanksgiving was that TWO chickens are now...finally....laying! My black English Orp gave me her 3rd egg yesterday and one of my splash Jersey Giants gave me a egg too!!!
I was THANKFUL!! I had upped their feed to 20% protein and I don't know if that did it or the warmer weather but I hope the rest get on the egg laying wagon real soon now!

Loved hearing about all the delicious cakes, cookies, chickens, etc.....who knew we had so many great cooks on the Michigan BYC thread?

My plan for today is to spend as much time outside as possible and to avoid shopping in town at all costs!!!

What a wonderful holiday Thanksgiving is! Always so much to be thankful for!

Jaime, I am thankful that you were not injured!

It's going to be a beautiful day in West Michigan. The sun is already out!

God bless you all! If you are able to pray for a young man named Micheal, please do. I discovered at a gathering yesterday how much he is hurting.

Hmmm...everyone must be out shopping... getting the black Friday deals. Not me. I'm taking the dogs for a walk. Enjoy the day. It's warmer, but again, windy. I get so tired of the wind.
