Just came in after 2 hours of snowblowing and shoveling. Man, what a wet heavy snow. I've never had my two stage blower plug up before and this time I've had to stop 3 times to clear it. Sure glad I've got it, I'd hate to move all this with just a shovel.

I have to find home for my silkies, if anyone wants them or knows someone who does. One is a rooster, crowed this morning.....I give up on silkies....lol

1Mutt...welcome home! We used to catch sheephead and as you say...they are goooood eating!

I'm with Fife, wow no snow up here yet, but guess I better get the snowblower on the tractor soon. Kind of tough when 2 days ago I was fishing in 80 degree weather watching the herons, egrets, dolphins, and myriad other wildlife all smart enough to head for warm weather in the winter.

We definitely have snow. The forecast was for 1 inch and we got 7. I sure don't like how wet and heavy this snowfall was. This is the first time in 3 years that I've ever had my two stage blower get plugged. Three times I had to shut it off and remove the blockage, but it still beats having to shovel all of it with a shovel.

We did not get any snow yet.

Gogeous, sunny day without a cloud in the sky here in da UP! Kinda surprising.

And I HEARD AN EGG SONG THIS MORNING! She was yammering away for a good fifteen minutes! When she finally stopped and I peeked in the coop...NO EGG D: It is like she went "lol, just kidding!"

Ah well. At least today shall be an awesome day in another regard, meeting a goat breeder to check out a doe, oh squee! So excited! If you want to see the goat, she is the third goat down , born 5/3/10 out of Dancing Angels Candy Cane (dam) and Bob N Trout Road Runner (sire). Of course, I'll have some of my own pictures to spam ya'll with soon, since I am definitely taking pictures!

There has been a state DNR program for years that pays land owners (farmers) to keep land fallow. Just let it revert to natural, as i understand. Said land is then made available to hunters, they (DNR) publish lists giving location, topography, game present and the like. No fee is charged to the hunter but they must register and abide by the posted rules. i used the program once about 25 yrs ago. Went to hunt pheasants in southern mi county. Talked to the owner and was surprised to find he was brother to a fellow who lived in Montague who had a farm just outside of town, was into horses and his daughter was a friend of my daughter and had been a student of mine. Small world.

Hello all. I am from Duck Lake. Not far from Springport. We got lots of snow last night. About 8 inches. My poor chickens looked out the door of their coop and didn't want to go outside at all lol. Finally someone took the plunge and some others followed.
