Chickmate - thank you for the link. I named my daughter Mary after that blessed lady!
Merry Christmas to you also and your coop is fabulous and even more so with the wreath!

Diana - that rubber maid shed would be a good coop for bantams if there were some windows put in it!

There are a lot of hens on this thread.

Woohoo farmerboy!

I think it was just too nice out to waste time inside,we'll all have plenty of that soon. Spent some time in the henhouse, my one old hen is not feeling good. Got the snowblower on the tractor by myself and it actually WORKS! Also greased all the fittings, then flipped the Giant Pile of Horse Manure. And hung some lights outside. Then came in and finished the christmas baking, 5 batches of cookies. I am tired.

I've noticed the same thing.
Where else could I say that I'm a chicken groper and not be pilloried?

Another day of no heat and no lights and another 5 eggs. It gives me an idea for a biology project for next semester.

X3 on the noticing the kindness of Michiganders!

ChicwannaB - that is one regal looking Billie. Tell your husband I am just like him. I cried non stop for 5 days once over a chicken.
Kids roll their eyes...

I wish I could cry...PAXIL has robbed me of that.

One of mine started laying again yesterday too. We had eggs leftover from breakfast and I told DH to give them to the Icelandics since they have been going thru a mini molt they needed it more than the other chickens. I think they appreciated it.
