Ok now I need some advice. Hope someone on here can help me. I have 31 eggs in my incubator that are due to hatch on Friday. I am taking my turner out today. On someone else's we page I read where you should put your eggs in egg cartons with the bottom cut out of the cups for air. This way they will stay the same temp. But this was for a still air incubator. Mine has a fan in it. My question is with the fan do I still need to do this or can I just lay them on the bottom? This is my first time doing incubation and I really need to know as I don't want to do it wrong and lose my eggs. Thanks. All help is appreciated.

I could not have said it better myself.

I am missing my chickens. I did hobble out to close up the pop doors last night since no one else was here to do so.

RBahmer, I haven't tried hatching chicks yet so I can't give you any advice there. Good luck with your hatch!

my dad was same and did the same started church and all and died few months later wasnt sick or anything...hugz

Thank you both for a lovely picture of how God loves us and draws us to Him when we are going to need Him most!

I can honestly say that I would not be here today without the help of God and the people who love Him.
He is there for everyone who sincerely seeks Him! Merry Christmas!

x2! I was raised Baptist, still am, and the people in our church are very loving, are always willing to help other who has needs. When our house burned down in August '00, and my mom was 7 months along with our youngest sister, our entire church gave clothes, food, and shelter for my family of 10. I also love our pastor, he had helped me out of a very difficult situation. There was a few times that I am sure that I would not have been here today, if God had not made me sick that day and was not able to go anywhere.

I have hatched chicks in egg cartons, and liked it better then the eggs on their sides, for when the chicks hatch they do not kick the other eggs around.

Are they able to get out of the shell being in an egg carton?

Hello- i am is southeastern MI i only have 4 girls! very worried about winter and keeping them from frost bite. I live in a neighborhood with an ordanance against farm animals tho my nieghbors have not complained. We love our eggs and the entertainment the girls bring to our lives

A man went to the city looking for God and couldn't find him. He went to the mountains hoping that being closer to the heavens he could find God and still had no success. He went to churches of every denomination and yet still was unable to find God. Finally in frustration he looked deep with himself and discovered God had been there all along.

Yes, with no issues. Just make sure that the eggs are large end upright.

Your chickens should not have frostbite if your coop is well ventilated, and dry. It is the moisture in the coop that causes frostbite.
This is my unheated coop, and all of my birds are happy and fine.
