Well, the Polish/Frizzle chicks I was going to buy, didn't hatch. They died in the shell.

So I ordered two more female chicks, with a total of 4 now. I should be getting them from her in Feb. Two EE's and two Buff Orpingtons

Sorry about you being sick Mom. You need to take care of that and rest and not work. Last time I had it I was working the midnight shift and got soooo sick I couldn't lay in bed to sleep. I would sit in the dining room chair at the table and sleep. Finally went to the doctor, was put in hospital for a week, and my Dr told me if I hadn't come in I would have sat in the chair and died. So you need to rest and not work and take care of yourself. That is nothing to play with.

Good Morning!! Mom, please stay home and sleep!! Take care of yourself, for heavens sake!
Taprock, how the chicken doing?? Hope she is doing better. I hate when they get sick. It's so frustrating.
Lots of things to do... so you all have a great day!

Mom - take care of yourself and rest. Sick chickens are a worry but a sick mom is serious. If you don't take care of yourself you aren't able to take care of everyone and thing that needs you.

My Peep is still alive this morning. I'm wondering if chickens can have stokes? She reminds me of my grandma after she had one. On the positive side there is no sign of any thing respiratory, no swollen face, sneezing coughing. Really no sign of illness except breathing through her mouth and weakness this morning. I gave her some Pedia-lyte.

Here are my pictures from yesterday. Or rather some of my sons - he was outside the whole afternoon.

Two days ago I had 6 escapees and didn't know how they got out. Boots was kind enough to demonstrate.

This was our first Eagle of the season. Last year they didn't show up until February.

Mom2 - please visit your doctor as needed! My son had to go back a second time and get prednisone and a plastic chamber to make the medicine from the inhaler easier to inhale.
Please stay on top of the pneumonia, it is serious!

Taprock - I believe I had a chicken have a stroke. She pushed out a shellless egg and then dropped dead. Vet said heart attack or more likely stroke from the effort of trying to push out the soft egg. Easier for chickens to push an egg out when it has a hard shell.

Thanks for the photos of the beautiful chickens! Now that mine have passed I enjoy the photos and the stories even more!

Olive - Happy Solstice and Merry Christmas! You have brightened my year.

Thanks to all the people on here who make me smile each day!

Taprock, the pic of Billy Bob made me laugh out loud.
