that's an interesting question... Would be good to know... Especially for people w high cholesterol.

Myth

I don't know the answer to that but I have always heard that eggs left out and get warm will harbor a bacteria that will make you sick. That is why when I gather mine everyday I wash and refrigerate them immediately.

WOW, that is fantastic!! I want one now! lol

I assume they are breedable! Maybe the excessive feathers get in the way sometimes, but hopefully should be good!

I swear, some days... Ok, I swear most days, especially when I am driving...
So I go let the girls out,and they all run bent for leather to the garage.... What the... So, I look in the coop and it as like a tornado went off in there! There was a poop lid in the nest box, the nest box is full of poop, no eggs. How did it get in there? It usually sits on top of the nest box so I can just take it off, dump the poop and litter in the dump bucket, I put it back and put on fresh litter... So, I get the nest box cleaned out, put straw in it, cuz that's what i have at hand out there. (I have a bag of straw in the winter run, so half way thru the week I can dump another layer of straw in the ducks coop, clean it on weekends completely) so, get that back in order and head for the garage. I have one on the straw bale, one in the nest box, 2 complaining, and 2 running around like freaks trying to figure out what to do with themselves. Oh, and Aster was already back in the coop nest box laying hers. The only hen that was not acting like the sky was falling was my faverolle hen, Buffy. By the time all was done, I had 4 make it back to the coop, 3 laying in the garage and one who could not wait, and now I have a green banty egg under the duck coop. I guess I am going to um... Leave it till I can sucker Jace into laying down in the mud and getting it for me!

but the ducks are good this morning...

they are fine. I took the advice of watch and wait. So, I watched a lot. Roger hasn't sneezed since. Buffy still does, but she fat and happy girl. None of the others have done anything. They all still hang out together during the day... So, I have the albon on hand, and I did ask about getting some denaguard(sp) to have on hand as well. Just in case.

I LOVE ALL THE PICTURES OF THE NEW CHICKS!! THE DUCKS ARE ADORABLE TOO!!

Farmerboy....nice shed for your calves! One thing about doing so much work yourself it that you can take pride in knowing & letting others know that you did yourself. Hard work ALWAYS pays off!

X 2!

lol

Sorry to laugh Nova but I was picturing the whole thing as I was reading it.
As for getting your little boy to lay down in the mud to get your stray egg......I've never met a boy who doesn't like to play in the mud especially when he's given permission!
