Wow Opa, did not know that about the eggs... SO, if that is the case, why do my green eggs look blue on the inside? I actually got my too green eggs this morning while they were still hot. I caught them just as Aster got hers out and ran for the morning snack... If I can catch them tomorrow morning, I am going to see if I can wash the color off! LOL. Of course.. most factoids are false, even if repeated many many times... So says the book, "100 words everyone uses and misuses". Lol. BUT, I am gonna see.

Now, on the vein... My second green egg laying girl, her eggs are not looking so green now... Less green than Aster's... They are looking more bluish. Still green but more blue than olive like Asters... AND, I got all of these three girls, from the same lady... The girls are all black, and Aster is the only one of the group who is not the same size as her brood mate sisters... The two cochin bantam mutt girls that is. They, all three are the exact same color, same green sheen to the feathers. Aster is the only one that does not have feathered legs. The other 2 do. BUT one of them has muffs, and her sister doesn't... AND they all came from the same farm... SO, I think the idiot lady ( I say that cuz HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE COCHIN MUTTS) gave them away to me for free because she did not want that "crap" (which again makes her an idiot, chickens are not crap) in her flocks. She hatched them out of a bunch of eggs... SO, I wonder if she had known that I would get a pink, a green, and a blue-green laying trio, would she have still given them away? And if that dang hawk hadn't have gotten Scooter, do you think maybe she would have layed me a purple egg? Just saying... Cuz man, what luck have I to have a colorful basket my first time round? And why do some people do not beleive that chickens do not just lay white and brown eggs? Just some random ramblings... LOL.

AND, Why is it that I can sit in my yard, or stand in the garage, and be still and watch the chickens and still be confounded by their sheer genius? I mean really. How many chickens will run into a glass window over and over till they figure out that they can not go thru it, and then do it all over again the next day? AND THE WINDOW ISN"T EVEN CLEAR! Its muddy, spotted... Filthy really. Silly butt birds. I love my chickens. These girls are a complete joy. I hope I don't get attached to the meaties in the spring... I'd hate to have to pick 50 birds up every day and put them in the coop because they can't walk there themselfs. LOL.

My roosters tasted good BTW. SO, I don't think I will be that attached. LOL.

Sorry, long useless, kill time post.

Ok I have an egg story I will share with y'all. My sister was over to her sister-in-laws condo and they got into the conversation of my chickens and my eggs. All at once Nancy, the sister -in-law who is in her 60's says to my sister, I was always under the impression that ALL eggs come out brown and they bleach them to get white eggs. There is no such thing as green or blue ones unless they bleach them to white then dye them. My nephew was rolling on the floor laughing and told her she needs to get out of the city and spend a day on the farm. I laughed so hard my ribs were hurting lol.

Fine morning to all, even though it's almost noon, geesh where did the morning go. I am tackling the spare bedroom where the computer is in hopes of creating order in my chaos. I have already filled one trash bag and hope to fill another. When my hard drive died it took with it a lot of music and pictures. Thankfully I had some photos stored here and on facebook and was able to make copies back to my hard drive. Some things were backed up on a thumb drive but not near enough. It is very sad to loose the few pictures that I take. I think I will try to see if my mom can get me a few christmas pictures from the past 5 years. I now have space on Cloud to keep back up pics and such. It is amazing how much of our lives are on these machines.

Loving the lack of snow as I cleaned the coop yesterday and was able to use the wheelbarrel to haul the gardners gold to the compost.

Gotta go, DD needs help with a Video Game!!!

I am giving some eggs to a friend on Monday, his wife does not believe in green eggs...

I have run into a lot of people who has never seen green or blue eggs but to honestly believe all eggs come out brown is just too hilarious. It would make more sense for all eggs to come out white then dye them to color but to bleach brown eggs. She is just too funny. I always have a lot of fun when we do things together. She is just sooo comical.
