I think we are all trying to get it sorted out. Within a couple of weeks, we'll be old hands at this.

PS, girls went 5 for 5 laying eggs today.

I think you mean Leila and YES! I have had two hens get sick from being broody. Definitely keep her eating. We even put food and water near their faces when they are sitting on the nest. Maybe a vitamin boost?

Whew, I was feeling like I'm in the Twilight Zone with this new format and then Nova says Buffy is losing weight. I'm like wait . . . I thought Buffy was . . . .

Hello Again All, With the previous format I never went into BYC to check the MI thread, I received an email when someone posted something, clicked on that email and went right into the thread. Now that I have updated things, I now think I have to go to BYC, scroll down to my subscriptions and get into my favorite thread that way. Does this sound right to those of you that are far more advanced than I am?

Just hover your mouse over the button at the top of the screen on the homepage (on every page, actually) that says "Forum". A drop down menu will appear. In the upper right corner of the drop down menu is a link that says "I've Posted" click it. The Michigan thread should always be near the top of that page there because it's replied to so often it gets bumped up. HTH!

Well, Krisrose and I put my hen down that was attacked by a hawk today. She was my first hen. I'm just really bummed right now.

No difference in the reply methods. If you want to reply to someone you want to click quote or if you want to reply to many people you can click multi on all of the posts you want to reply to. The key to having the quotes show up in your post is to make sure you type outside the quote box as it shows up in the editor.

I'm not a fan of the WYSIWYG being mandatory, I much prefer to code my own posts. But... it's workable. Just be careful when you're editing. If you do happen to accidentally delete a quote there is a quote button on the top bar of the post editor that you can use to copy/paste text, highlight it and then make it a quote. It's next to the smileys.

So now we can't edit a post after we've screwed it up or remembered something we wanted to add? Mama comes out of her crate twice a day to eat, drink and poop. She is really good about doing all three and then running back to the coop and her eggs. She will even eat treats if I hold them up to her.

OK - I found the edit. Sheesh, how did I quote myself??? This is going to take some getting used to, I'm afraid.
