Na... It that child needs a hat that says hes motoring... A spartan hat just doesn't say that... LOL.
The people who I got the ducks from came over today. Theo, that's the guy, he wanted to empty the boat pool out and refill it. I was like... No. I am not flooding the run and possibly the enclosure just cuz he wants fresh water for fish. I empty the pool by half every few days. It has a drain plug so quite a bit of the duck poo and mud does go out during the draining process. Also, since the boat pool stand higher up than the kiddie pool, there is a lot less filth in it in the end. I made him mad, but oh well. There is already a big mud puddle there from the draining the other day, the snow that fell and melted and then of course the ducks splashing around. LOL. So, I told him to just use their water dish for the fish, it would work fine. The ducks would be happy with the fish anyway they get them. I also used this nice day we had here to give them 20 sq feet of space more. The new space included a huge bug filled leaf pile. They are so easy to please. They'd have been even more excited had I soaked the leaf pile. LOL.
I also made the 7 weekers run a bit bigger. I can't wait to be able to let them run around the yard. Mr. Fluffers comes over by the fence that separates them, and makes all kinds of noises at them. Fiametta also goes over to the littles and makes honking noises at them. Roger goes over and makes this hurrrrrrrr noise at them, and when I give him a treat, cuz if I am outside, he is where ever I am at, he makes that "OOH look what I found" noise. So, the littles are getting used to them.
I put Roger in the dog coop with Leila and her littles. She puffed up and made herself as threatening as she could, and I swear Roger gave her a look as if to say, Ah, shut up. Once Leila got comfortable with him in there, she didn't cluck at her babies to run. The babies ran around Roger like he was possible a new food source, or possible a new toy. I don't know. I was impressed that he was so non threatening to them. They are going to be living in the garage together here in few weeks, so, I want them to start... seeing each other.
Speaking of chicks. Leila's two little black chicks are not so black any more. They are starting to lighten up. The little faverolle chick is starting to look more salmon color. Its comb is still pale and tiny. I am hoping for a girl there. The fav/skeeter chick is also darkening up a bit in the wings. I am so amazed at how much chicks change color as they start to get pin feathers and feather out. I can not wait to see how the mutts turn out.
Well, anyway. I start my new route tonight... Had to find another employer since the press went to 3 day a week home delivery. Now I am also delivering the competitors paper. I just need to do this for 2 more years... Then both of my boys will be in school and I can get a different job while they are at school. Papers delivery is just so convenient with toddlers at home. Do not want my kids going to full time day care if at all possible, and my mom is OK with just 2-3 hours a day with my youngest. BUT, Now I am back to 7 days a week. LOL. AND ON 3RD SHIFT! OK... gotta be up and out the door by 4 AM and will be back home by 6AM. Cant beat that and It keeps the bills paid. I really wish I didn't have to do it though. But its that or swallow my pride and go to the DHS. I don't want to do that either. I would rather work and pay for what we need than stay home and let other hard working people pay for what I need.
That being said... Does anyone around here have a welder? I need a piece of metal welded to my driver side floor. There is a hole. The only thing keeping my foot from falling Through, is the carpet... which is still good. LOL. Old jeep. Great engine. Michigan rust. LOL.
2 more weeks to go and then I am starting my seeds... 2 weeks... OH YA!
OK, have a great night all. Looks to be a nice warmish week this week.
