. We lost another 4 birds last night. 2 before 1 am.......and I found another 2 when I went out to feed. I am just devestated. We have a weasal trap out, and a live trap. I thought I had the hole in the floor patched, but I was wrong. We were lucky for so many years with predators. Just an occasional fox loss now and then. In the last 6 months I lost over 5 dozen birds. 2 dozen at the end of the fall when I forgot to shut the layer door until 10pm. 3 dozen to the weasal since Christmas.

so sorry! hope you catch that critter soon

. Hope and I are doing much better and Granny feels she is over the worst of it. This has been a cold that I wouldn't have wished on my worst enemy.

Eeeee! Chante babies! They are so adorable! I am so glad they and their parents are doing so well for you!

Good for you Stacykins, sounds like you're having alot of fun. I now have children from the buff Chante's I got from you. Here's a p[ic of most of them. 3forfree took some eggs of mine and incubated them, then he gave them back to me, they are at five weeks now.
then I did a small 7 egg hatch from what I think were my Barred Rocks x either Chante or JG roo They are just at 9 days. I see some red in them unless it's the buff blending with black somehow, such cuties. Mutts!!

Haha, yea, I am kinda counting the goslings before they hatch. I guess I just like planning everything out as well as I can! My last hatch of ducklings went pretty darn well, 10 out of 12 hatched (all developed), so I might be feeling a bit overconfident right now

Oh, counting your goslings before they are hatched - watch out or the voodoo egg curse will hit you
