What a very slow morning!
GUESS WHAT!!! Today I went to let the chooks and clucks out a bit late... Ok, A LOT late. And what do I find? The chooks decided that a nest box is not a place to lay eggs, so eggs all over the coop. OR, they laid them in the nest box, got bored and tried to have a soccer match. I don't know. They just weren't in the nest boxes. And then, I go to let the duckarellas out and I see the filthiest egg ever! Some one really should have warned me. It looked like there was algae on it. It was fresh though, there were no eggs in there yesterday. It was just a slimy egg. LOL. BUT one of them free-loaders decided to gift me with an egg this morning. SO, I gifted them back with fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Now, the other 3 best get to work.
Its a sunny windy day here. It was supposed to be a warm windy cloudy day though. I am not complaining. I have a head ache however from the sun beating me in the eyeballs. I forgot to bring my glasses with me to work, so delivering today was a night mare of white glare. It was a blessing of warm car however. My toes stayed warm That is always a nice thing.
I got home, and my pretty little cockerel, I have named him Roopert, was in the under run of the big coop. He got himself stuck in there with the demon Skeeter. Boy can that little one pound ball for feathers and fury kick some chicken butt. My, my, my.... It was funny in a way, but not so much, because I don't think poor Roopert was expecting HER, and she was just protecting her babies. But here is why it is funny... Roopert is already taller and heavier than Skeeter, but she beat the crap out of that poor boy like a 5ft tall mom will knock the snot out of her 6 foot tall son. Well, anyway, I was able to get Roopert out, and he actually let me HOLD HIM hold him with out throwing a tantrum. Grateful for the food lady rescue I am guessing. LOL.
Well, my mighty midgets just walked in the door from their over night with their dad. Gonna go smack em around now. HEHEHE. Just kidding. Sorta. LOL.
I GOT A DUCK EGG!! WOOT WOOT!
