WOW! I musta looked like I spent my whole day online yesterday ignoring everyone! LOL. Oops.


No Mom, as cute as he is, I do not need any roos to keep. I am only keeping Roger and Mr Fluffers. Even Roopert will be having a date with dinner table in 2 months. They should be about 20 weeks then. He's going to make a nice big dinner if the size of him now says anything. Gotta love them Faverolles, even if they are crossed.

I believe in the scream my head off approach. Yup. Not really. I have no problem flicking my kid in the back of his head. Doesn't hurt much, but sure gets his attention quick. I think I have only spanked my 6 year old one time for real... And that was because he thought it would be funny to throw a chicken. Boy was I p*ssed.

Does anyone know at what age you can sex Silver wyandottes? I'm just so curious on those 2, they look different than each other to me and I'm impatient to figure it out...

Wish I didnt have to work in this nice weather so I could finish working on my chicken coop and yard. Hope every is having a good day today so far.

RaZ, when my ordinance guy came out and said there was a complaint on my chickens, we had a long discussion. After awhile he said, if you get rid of the roosters, the problem will go away. I guess some will work with you, but I wouldn't offer any info for him. Some can be power hungry. I mentioned the RTFA and he had no idea what I was talking about, or played dumb. Still got my chickens, but no roosters. I also live in a rural area where next door neighbors could have whatever cuz they have more land.

Based on what I read here, the girls get long flight (wing) feathers pretty quick and their tails develop about as quickly and tend to point up.
I have been comparing my 3 to the ISA and BSL girls and I'm 95% sure that they are girls. The one Wyandotte with the shortest tail has the longest flight feathers so I hope it is also a pullet.

No roosters here. Other than the egg song, my girls are pretty quiet. They certainly are not louder than the barking dogs and the screaming kids all over the neighborhood.

Going to wash the motorcycle and ride to school!

I feel bad that it is so bright and sunny here and so gloomy in Washington, but Chicken Rustler will just have to move east if he expects sunshine on a regular basis. With the number of people wanting good weather I figure the sun must be just about used up by the time it travels all the way to Washington.
