Inside the coop. Note the roosts.

The finished product-

d, and I had to get fuel for it, then pump some grease in the tiller, then was ready to go!

Oh, yeah, by the way, I will be happy to give the Washington peeps the hot temps we have be getting, I am sick of the heat! Go ahead and bash me in the head for being generous with OUR weather, when you guys are being stringy.

Nice coop - I could use one, pity you aren't closer.

And thank you for being so generous with you weather - It's simply gorgeous here today!

I thought the same thing, but I think it's the MALES who are hard on fences, because our girls never touch them. They are low maintenance, and they dress out well (we have meat and milk crosses). Plus the meat is lean, low fat and tasty (just like our bunnies).

Goats can have worms but I don't think they are the same kind - HOWEVER, we use the same meds on both, just different doses.

Wondered how long it'd take for a goat person to defend 'em.

She was so excited she went chasing them all around until she caught another.

That is adorable Juise!

I am sure my son is going to do the exact same thing when we get the babies soon.

Question:

Does anyone have plants they put in the garden just for their chickens? I saw a book on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Free-Range-Chicken-Gardens-Beautiful-Chicken-Friendly/dp/1604692375

All about giving them forage and relying less on bagged feed. We'll have .64 acres and I want it to be landscaped well enough to give them plenty of natural food (bugs, worms, seeds). There are tons of hawks here (I really love them so don't hate me. As soon as the kids are older I'm taking my apprenticeship exam for my own red tail.) and I usually spot their hunting grounds quickly.

I'm trying to get a good plan for a coop 3-7 chickens and a run for them while I am away from the house.

Maybe I am just still pretty tired, but this comment on its own cracked me up, it is almost haiku.

That is funny... I never thought of it that way but now that you mention it...

Is your babe a really small girl or are those really big chickens?? I saw that pic of her standing next to the group of them and thought "dang!!" She is adorable though.
