Good morning Michigan. Opa it looks as if you got to the "bottom" of things. Coffee taste extra good this morning.

As soon as the light went on in the kitchen, the Roosters all began crowing. They do this everyday.

I have two lilacs. The one in front is an oriental variety which does not get very big or spread very fast but it stinks things up pretty good. The other is white. It had never bloomed until we had the property logged a few years back and now it is taking off, up and out.
I must say though that the flowering plum in the front yard is my favorite.

Well I just went out and fed the chickens and counted chicks. Everyone survived our hail storm yesterday. My backyard looks like there was a watermain break- as it always does. AND my swamp pond is overflowing into the yard, probably sending toadpoles or eggs through-out which will be a feast for the hens.

I have a silkie who is pondering going broody. If she does, I will probably stick some quail eggs under her.

Remember the sad post about the egg laying roosters.... I am so bad. Carl(neighbor) had his parents over. His Ma, God bless her... I pulled that on her for funsies... She was dumbfounded. Lol. Don't worry. I told her I was jerking her chain. She'd also never seen pink eggs before, and did not know duck eggs were just like chicken eggs only bigger and richer. Lol. Sweet lady. Until she started talking about her paper man... Wow. Gutter mouth. Lol. She also filibustered of Mr. Fluffers to show family in Pennsylvania. Said she never seen such a pretty rooster. Hahaha.

Speaking of Mr. Fluffers... His poor legs are turning pink. The look sore... And all the feathers are nearly gone. His beautiful black beard is turning white... I checked him for the other mites, didn't see any, but I understand that the scaly legs mites can also effect the wattles and comb. Now he looks like he's getting old... He's pretty spry considering the mite issue. Glad they are clearing up though.

I am never getting old... Oh shoot... Almost 40... Guess I will have to just live with my trusty auto correct and banties and underutilized eggs... Yup.
Yah - turning 39 this year - for real the first time! My DH just went on a tangent the other day how days really are shorter when you get older. Something to do with comparing the length of a day proportionally to how long you lived it gets shorter!?

He was quite serious!

Lilacs! They were my wedding flowers. Our home we are trying to sell is surrounded by them. We have 6 different varieties. The bottom one, each individual flower is the size of a nickel. I was hoping RAZ would know about lilacs! I have to transplant them to our current home.

Now I really want spring!!
This morning it is off to the church for spring cleaning there. Enjoy the dreary day!

Roopert is crowing. Roger has decided today would be the day to stand up to Mr. Fluffers. Years holding his own! Wow! I separated them, picked Rog up, he proceeded to crow in my face! He was so proud of himself.

I am going to nap now.
