Opa, I love your way with words.Personally I really like lilacs as well as many other short blossoming plants that seem to herald spring. How can you not love something as short blooming as a forsythia?
If you think about it, people are a lot like those plants. We spend a time developing until we blossom and then a long time in decline. I sure am glad that most folks have chosen to judge me by my leaves and not by my long faded blossom.![]()
ROCHESTER,N.Y. ,BIRTHPLACE OF THE LILAC,WE EVEN HAVE A LILAC FESTIVAL IN HIGHLAND PARK EVERY YEAR.WE HAVE OVER 20 PLANTS OURSELVES,TO BAD IT ONLY BLOOMS ONE TIME A YEAR.MY WIFE EVEN HAS THE PERFUME OF LILAC...
Im just glad nobody is trying to defend Magnolia trees. If you have to mow around either one Ill take lilacs because at least the lilacs smell good.
Just had an escapee from the brooder. A SLW decided to explore and wasn't the least bit fazed by the 75 pound Golden Retriever trying to catch him. I think it's a him. At 4 weeks there are noticeable red cheeks.
Was your month old chick with larger chickens Mom2? Could they have pecked on her?
Maybe there was just something wrong with it inside....
Mom,That's so sad and mysterious.![]()
