Oh MY, what is it?

oh, I wasn't even sure that it WAS a chicken!
Himself brought up a bunch of hathclingsfrom the 'bator today - only one of them was really odd. It looks like this

Henry 20th (all my ducks are Henry) This is a silver phase Welsh Harlequin.
Oh, and I got 4 black Copper Marans, 5 Icelandics (3 eggs are due tomorrow)
None of us are sure if it is a chicken or not. What we do know it that M2M is on a crazy breeding mission of crossing ostrich to chicken and I think she found some dinosaur DNA to throw into the mix.oh, I wasn't even sure that it WAS a chicken!
Ya know it's a rare occasion that I find it best for me not to comment. This is one of those rare times that I think it best to NOT comment in order to keep the peace!
Mom2m- why do you dye the chicks?
Milk. Whole milk,2% and goat milk.
And the occasional Labatt...or Maker's Mark.![]()
Oh MY, what is it?

The only thing that we have agreed upon is the name. Uggo.
Oh, and one other thing, they are 99.9% certain to be male. (Except for the 2 girls I got from her).![]()

There HAS to be something you drink besides water.
Coke? Diet Coke? Diet Pepsi? Mountain Dew?
Oh. let me not neglect the Edna news. Last night I bought a dozen eggs from a BYC listing, they'll be shipped from Oklahoma Monday. This was from someone (BYC name okiechickens) who has several different breeds/varieties, and you could mix and match for the dozen. So I asked her for a mix of her Blue/Black Ameraucana and her Easter Egger eggs. She said she would choose out the widest vaiety of shades of blue and green eggs that are laid this weekend to ship to me. I don't think Edna can cover more than four eggs (she's tiny), so when I get them I will candle to check if air cells are detached and keep the best ones. If more than four look good, I'll choose the best egg colors to keep, I guess.
If I get very lucky and most of the eggs look good--anyone interested in the extra eggs for your incubator or a broody hen? No charge, I'll just throw them out if I can't find anyone who wants them. No special claims about them being show quality (the Ameraucanas, obviously, since with the EE's that's not even a question...) or exceptional in any way. I was just interested in getting a wider range of egg colors. Anyway, I would be willing to meet someone part way if anyone is crazy enough to want to incubate any extras.
(Since we have been so disease-aware lately, I did ask her about her testing/vaccinating. She has not tested or vaccinated her birds, got the original stock from a NPIP source, has had buyers test her stock without a problem, but is not NPIP herself. Says she has a closed flock with no known problems. So I will cross my fingers just a little...) (Although most states do not require MG testing anyway, so a NPIP certification wouldn't matter there, and MG is the biggie as far as hatching eggs, right?)
Feed him, while you're at it. Even if it's that hypocritical grocery store food.![]()
