Been gone a week and I won't even look to see how many pages have passed in here! So I get back and my best layer has curled toes and can't walk very well. Not sure if it's an injury, vitamin problem, or something worse. Any thoughts?

I hope she will be ok. You could always try poly-vi-sol with out iron. It's sold in the pharmacy area for human babies. TSC also has vitamin electrolyte powder in a small white bottle. Oh and you need to post more recent pics of your rabbits too......after you get some rest.

Huh, I got these from Meyer. I suppose when I get my next batch shipped in June I'll still need the Marek's for them, too since the first bunch had it? I have no idea how this whole thing works.

swampducks, it's possible .... The hatchery (Meyers, i think) order book that i have does not recommend doing that particular one for small flocks? Didn't say why.

That's what I made for dinner. It was tasty. Must have garlic bread, too.

I am totally making some pasta w/meat sauce when I get home. I haven't cooked in like a week!

When Snowflake and I were at Michigan State University for the poultry workshop, they said the one vaccine we should be sure to request from the hatchery is Mareks.

Hello I was wondering if there were any Malay breeders in MI? I have a couple bantam malays but I bought them from a dishonest man who said they had no defects but they really had split wing (a disqualification), which I didnt know about at the time. I like showing and would like to do my best to improve the breeds I own, and split wing is nearly impossible to breed out. But I love the malays and would love to find some show or breeder quality birds (or eggs).

And... this silkie chick.. he's much dirtier looking than my other silkies, they are comming in white for sure... but I'm not sure about this one (there's nothing to make his feathers dirty either, could he be a splash or blue?

Yes it is. We got some from our local TSC for our very broody serama hen. She only hatched out two chicks so we got a few more for her.
