Aren't you pretty far away from me?
Sure, ribbit ranching, frog farming, amphibian agriculture. Bullfrog busting and toad taming a specialty.

I'm trying to get a breeding group of bullfrogs and green frogs here, so I usually buy a dozen or two each spring. Sometimes I get a call to go rescue tadpoles from in-ground pool covers.

Only a few hours - a hop, skip and a jump!

I was only joking. My oldest little one raised a handful of the tadpoles last year, and they all came out treefrogs, though I know many of them are not treefrog tadpoles. I am not sure how we ended up with all treefrogs. Actually, I think a couple were salamanders, but I I found them as dead salamanders.

I am not sure why... they had access to dry land, but I found them floating.

Juise may be but I'm not. No bullfrogs here but several other varieties are around (I have 2 ponds and a swamp, take some cattails while you're at it). Bring your own jam jar.

You are closer than Juise. I brought home salamander eggs from Fish Lake last year. I don't know if they made over winter or not. I should go out and turn over some rocks and logs and check.

hmmmmm....trying TRYING VERY HARD to keep my hands out of that incubator.

I put them in on 3/24 in the evening....so shouldn't they have started hatching by now?!?!?! I usually have them hatching early....not late! Maybe I can't count...someone count and tell me I'm crazy and need to learn how to count lol. I'm starting to freak out my hubby with my constant staring into the bator

what the heck kind of incubator do YOU use?!?!

Er, this is my first time trying to raise chickens. Before now I guess, to answer your question, it's a crock pot? I'm assuming from your reaction that's probably a bad incubator (but it works so well for casseroles and such!). Good to know

A crock pot is good for raising dead chickens...raising them to an edible state.

Frying pans, ovens and grills will also work.

DH and I spent all day running the second wire for the electric fence. Went hot about an hour ago. About 10 minutes ago Ziggy found a way out.

A little earlier he tried his usual jumping over spot and stepped on the bottom wire and jumped right back off of it. Tried it again and he returned to the house. But he's found a way around the stairs. Probably run a third line around it tomorrow. *sigh*

(and the remaining chicks are still doing well!)
Seriously, you guys are doing a pretty poor job of amusing me today. Where'd everyone go?!
