LOL. I have yet to read it to my kids.

They like Uncle Wiggly Longears, and Budd and Brighteyes Pigg stories. LOVE! THEM! Authors last name is Garris. They are great. Early 1900s.

They did a terrific job on the Princess Mononoke dub, one of my favourites. Some of the other dubs, not so much... I like the Fox release of Totoro, but the Disney dub...

Are we defining manga strictly as graphic novels, or are you referring also to movies?

I used to read a lot of manga comic books when I was little

Not so much anymore. I draw some comics. Don't really read any. Not that I wouldn't.

I do like to watch anime and have since I was tiny, but I get afeared to say so because it seems like most americans only know of the really bad ones?
