Sarah, my grandfather raised them for years in KS. They were easy to raise he never supplemented their feed unless it was a really hard winter, they found their own food and would roost in the elm trees above the sheep pens and provide warning calls if coyotes or strays came anywhere close. Now for him they were triple purpose; eye candy, watch dog, and thanksgiving.Cool. What do they eat? Do you feed them the same as chickens, or do you have to get a special food for them? Can you eat their eggs like chicken eggs (I guess I mean, would you want to eat them), and do they lay a lot? Are they a lot more expensive? Sorry I'm suddenly full of questions on this, haha!
