Rainy start but my new pears will benefit. Well, the Flemish rabbits will be ready to go on Mother's Day so anyone that wants one should PM me for directions (I can delievr in a reasonable distance to Twin Lake (Muskegon County).

Look forward to 70's this week! Anyone up North (Yoopers) I feel for ya from when I lived in da Soo. It's snowing - right?

I was off for a little R&R for a long weekend. I had to catch up on almost 800 posts yesterday!

Welcome to all the newbies! Gosh it seems like there are new people joining our group every day. It's so cool!

I got the pleasure of meeting the lovely 1muttsfan this weekend. When we pulled up to her home, the sight of her chickens barell rolling around her house and running full speed to our vehicle will stay a cherished memory.

That was freakin awesome! She's has ALOT of chicks and even more in the incubator. LOL...

Juise - I am so sorry you dont' feel well. Please get better soon :: passes you a pregnancy test ::

Raz - that neighbor of yours needs a hobby (besides stalking you)

Opa - what a lovely turkey!

Mom2 - I am not sure what it is about your Uggos, but when you post pictures of them I can't look away. I think I am delighted and perplexed all at the same time. It's really messing with my emotions.

On my way back from the U.P. I picked up a mate for my bunny Lola. His name is Charlie. :: chuckles :: He gave Lola the cold shoulder yesterday.

Sorry I have no responses from yesterday, I read late last night and fell asleep without responding.

Sillychicken, I like the new coop. Great idea.

Rainy this morning which is a good thing and it means I don't feel bad working inside. Lots of office work to do, However part of the work involved ordering pictures and so I have some new ones.

Opa, at three months am I safe to say Welsummer pullet?

This is Spot who's mom is a Cuckoo Maran, he's very friendly.

And last but not least is another Polish cross but this time instead of a Polish egger I think it's a Polishsummer.

Taprock, it sure looks like a Welsummer.

A short break in the rain has allowed the birds to venture out but looking at the weather map they won't be out long.

I'm going to be incubating some Welsummer eggs. If anyone is interested in chicks please contact me so I can decided how many eggs to put in.

I like the bottom one. That is one cool looking chicken !!!

Opa: If only I had the room, they are beautiful

Uchytil: That might mean that most of them get to live in freezer camp this winter. I'm not sure how happy my neighbors will be when/if we move this Summer. We also wanted some more friendly ducks so does a type exist? Or should I work on ducks straight from an egg for that more handled personality? Oh and my husband is definitely hinting about wanting a Flemish but I was looking at Silver Fox the other day and still no place to keep rabbits

SillyChicken: That's going to be a great house!

Babigyrl: Those are great! My husband was laughing at how fluffy they are.

Juise: I really hope you are feeling better today :(

Dotty's feed and pet store here in Clio has burned down.

Tomorrow at 0 dumb thirty I am going to start heading towards towards southwest Missouri while my oldest son heads this way. David is going to go to see his mother and brothers and help Joe get a bunch of the things done that he has been unable to do since breaking his clavicle and tearing a rotator cuff. Not sure where we will meet up but David will then complete the trip with Joe and I will head back home.
Opa, drive safe and have a wonderful time.

Daron, sounds like you had quite the adventure

ladyfeather, those duck pictures are great!

taprock, nice pictures too. And that does look like a pullet. At three months the comb and wattles would be bigger on a cockeral.

Daron - I'm so glad you were able to feel Gert's pigs. :) You can buy a fence tester at TSC. It's a handy little tool to have around.
We just brought a bigger and better fence tester at FFH yesterday, and my dad tested right at the source- the fence charger. The lights on the tester did not blink at all, so my dad took the wire off the fence charger, and tried again, this time the tester blinked. What could be wrong with the charger or the fence? :he
I have to ask....Did you make it to church? lol
Yes, I jumped into the family van with my hair wet. lol
Farmerboy, even better than a fence tester is a little device called a Fence Alert. You clip it onto the wire, and if the power is interrupted it starts blinking. Mine hangs where I can easily see it from the house, and has let me know several times when a tree has gone down on the fence.
We almost brought one yesterday, I think that we should have. :/
I finished covering most of the roof in the dark.... Still have to put something on the ridges and a vent at the peak to finish.
Great looking coop! :) Its raining here. Today, I will be swabbing the Easter chicks for MG as they are 3 weeks old now. Please pray that the results comes back negative and the experiment had worked. I will not get the results back for two weeks! It will be a long wait. :(

Rainy and cold here this morning. I guess there won't be much outside "choring" today.

It might be a good time to mark the layout of the new kitchen counter and measure for cabinets. Still not sure if I want to take the time to make my own or cheap out and buy pre-made unfinished.

Better go out and check the chickens.
