It is not even close to being done and I am itching to get some chicks in it!!!!

Well, the squirrels found my bird feeder this morning... I got the really good cardinal mix... Mmmm! It took them a week to find it!!

Try adding some cayenne pepper to your feeder. The squirrels won't like it and it won't bother the birds.

I put out my hummingbird feeders yesterday. Last year I saw the first one on May 1st. I usually see them by the 5th. By August I will be going thru a gallon or more of feed a day.

Okay.. these are the best I can do... Not very good pictures, like I said. And these are both of my very least favourite set of dreads, too. (I've had three.) Still not sure I really want to post them, but... ah, well. >.< These are 4 / 5 years ago.

Nice coop BFM!

We had the same problem doing our coop Sunday, neighbor needed help pulling out old picture window and lifting the new one in place, so we made a couple trips up to their house to help out.

I did not know that about cayenne pepper! I knew it would keep ants away but squirrels!!!

I see them running all over the yard looking for water!!! We have one squirrel with half a tail... I creatively named her Half Tail!

I get excited everytime I see her in the yard!

Silly, are you going to put on a regular door? You could do a "cat door" type pop door, and then you'd have a way to get in there and scrape it . If you can find a used little window, i would put that up top somewhere for ventilation and light.

Farmerboy, it will definitely be a looooong wait.

BYFM, I like the coop. I think I could do that! See, I need to build a silkies coop and run, since they do not see the hawks coming, do not run the fastest and are the big targets. I was just going to use the broody coop, but I have enough wood for framing, and enough fencing/wire/hardware clothe the run. SO, thanks for the pictorial. Gonna steal. LOL.

Yes we're putting a door on one end. Thanks for the suggestion on the pop door! I probably will do hoop runs for the birds since it's for the silkies and uggos, so I'll more than likely put a door on the side.
