Ooooo, I like The Funky Chicken Lounge! Although I am still pretty fond of Stoned Hens, hahaha.

So, no comment on my 2 eggs in a day chicken? Has this happened to you people before?

Oh yeah says Miss "I have the fowl what are you going to barter with"!!

Chickens lay eggs every xx hours, rather than every x days. The number of hours varies breed to breed and hen to hen within any given breed. If you're absolutely certain there wasn't an egg there last night and you know someone didn't put one out there to play a trick on you (or innocently, such as your 4yo) I'd just assume you hit the point in a hen's cycle where the hours didn't coincide with the change of days and/or someone's cycle had a hiccup that moved it even closer together than usual. Some hens' cycles are naturally less than 24 hours so it can happen.

The little Vorwerk hen is sticking tight to the 6 eggs and has 10 more days to go. Tonight I placed a broody Ameraucana on 12 Welsummer eggs. Hopefully she will stay as well.

Juise, two eggs in one day from a single hen is pretty uncommon. To bad they don't do it with more regularity.

I've seen the alpaca output. I thought the geese were bad.

Oh yeah and you also have that broken toe.

(Hope that's getting better btw)

I had just cleaned the alpaca poo up the day before you came, too!

Thanks, the toe is feeling a lot better than it was. That or I've just learned how to walk without it.
