Good luck tomorrow Raz. 250 something post behind. Nope, can't read that many so, congrats to everyone with new babies, sorry to anyone who had mishaps, and welcome to any newbies
.
I have new chicks hatching right now. 2 of my Icelandic hens went broody about a week apart and today the one sitting on 14 eggs is hatching. The other hen only has 5. Tried to look under her to see how many had hatched but she got pretty wicked on me so I decided to just wait.

Picked up some beautiful Buff Silkies this weekend and a pair of Bantam Mottled Cochins. Just gorgeous.

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers.

So there is a chance you could be cooped up.
That is what my friend is afraid of. She seems to think that I'll wind up in jail. Sheesh, it is only an arraignment, it will either be dismissed or we go to trial.
Raz -good luck! If they lock you up Juise and I will come steal...er watch your ducks.

If any of you are coming to "watch" my ducks, you need to know that it's a package deal. Ducks, chickens, bees, dogs and cats all go together. And keep your sticky fingers off my Harley!

All the chickens are in the garage coop and not a one went up into the rafters. The older ducks are camping out under the white pine. Bees have been moved and now I think it is time for bed.

Thanks for the good wishes

I just came in to hydrate and get a snack while the paint dries.

I think you missed a decimal point. That peewee egg weighs nearly a pound! And the jumbos weight more than some of my hens.!

You guys need to read a little more closely. I gave the egg weight in GRAMS not ounces.

Size

Mass per egg

Cooking Yield (Volume)
[1]
Jumbo

Greater than 2.5 oz. or 71 g

Very Large or Extra-Large (XL)

Greater than 2.25 oz. or 64 g

56
mL (4 tbsp)
Large (L)

Greater than 2 oz. or 57 g

46 mL (3.25 tbsp)

Medium (M)

Greater than 1.75 oz. or 50 g

43 mL (3 tbsp)

Small (S)

Greater than 1.5 oz. or 43 g

Peewee

Greater than 1.25 oz. or 35 g

So Lemon laid a small and Pepper laid a medium.

I'm just a metric kind of guy.

<-- Is what I will do... Oh boy... I will go back and change that too.

I still think it is amazing... I would not want to lay an egg. I didn't even have to birth my son... I respect these gals and what they do for us! And any mom that did have to push!!! (I wish I could have had the chance though)

Now everyone knows I am a skimmer...

Olive Hill, please check your PM's. I've sent you a couple with no response.

I set my BYC preference so I get notified by email if there was a PM sent to me and for some reason it's not sending anything and I don't know about any PM's until I sign on, maybe she just didn't notice them.
