I think we've put about $50 into shaping this thing up...if that! You can't see it...but it is a lovely red barn color. I'm thinking white trim so it matches the sussex coop beside it. (which will also be getting a new coat of paint) I was recently told by a co-worker that a neighbor of his has a shed with a good frame and roof and that he's just going to burn it....hmmmm...think the husband will be angry if I bring home another project?!?! LOL Here's the window all framed in this morning! I'm going to make a coop-rebuild page on here :)

Not a bad idea. It might be fun to see how we can re-purpose old materials into something useful.

Another coop idea would be how to disguise a coop so that your neighbors don't know that you have chickens.

Good Morning everyone!

Such a busy weekend, I need a weekend to recover from it..but its not to be..time to get ready for a long work week..at least my work has Air Conditioning.
My left foot and lower part of my leg is so swollen it hurts to walk. I have no idea why? I have done NOTHING to make it happen. Normal working in the yard, playing with a toddler, nothing else.

Don't feel bad mom, she ignored me too!

Oh boy did my arms get toasted... went for a nice bike ride yesterday. Had a good productive weekend though. Will be getting ready for the garden this week.

Anyone got plans for the long weekend? Part of my plans are to disassemble the old outhouse and rebuild it!

lol how about an underground coop!? :)

My turkey poults are feathering out enough, that it looks like I may have a few broadbreasted/royal crosses. Wish they were easy to sex as chicks. I think I'll hold back a few to see how they turn out.

Lol, I didn't actually reply to everyone, but if it makes you feel better... Mom, you have a problem.

The Uggonauts are at least kind of cute, but that 2 week pigeon? Now I know you have some issues.

I was thinking about you yesterday, though, and how you are penning off some of your space. I am reading "Free-Range Chicken Gardens" right now, my mum got it for me for my birthday. I've only started it, but it is interesting so far.

Swelling can be a sign that you are not getting enough water, maybe you didn't down as much water as your body needed while working away this weekend?

Plan is today to plant the garden. I was hoping for rain so I didn't need to soak it down first.

Aww, Silly, ne'er a day goes by that your name does not pass my lips.

I was pretty jealous of your ride for ice cream, I wish I could do that. Someone come over here and set up a delicious vegan ice cream stop. K?

Got a small spot of rain coming overhead right now. This is because I turned on the hose and watered my sweet peas and blueberry bushes. Still, it won't be enough so it's good I did the watering. I wonder how my 11 golden buffs are enjoying their first experience of water from above? They're 6 weeks old and I put them in the intermediary coop (old rabbit hutch attached to a dog kennel) a few days ago. I know they are enjoying dust baths.

Lost a guinea keet today, no idea why, they all seemed find a couple hours ago. Was just laying flat out at the water dish. DH called it failure to thrive. *sigh* Of course, it wouldn't be one of the 3 with the bum legs. One has some sort of joint problem but is gamely carrying on, 2 had spraddle leg which I tried the bandaid treatment for a couple days but they still aren't holding their feet under them correctly. I hope the 8 I'm picking up at the feed store tomorrow look good!!
