Well, I got unlazy... Had the niece and nephew over for a home cooked meal while my sister is back in the hospital. They've got the shunt in and have already drained out 1500 cc of fluid. Yeah...
So, I had them help me move the yesmeaties coop and put up a larger run for them. They are do darn cute running around in there, chest butting each other. Its quite something that they are bigger than the wyandottes i got a month ago. When I got them a week ago, they fit in the feed dish, now they do not. Yes, I know... a lot of you already know this, but it is new to me, so i will say it. HA. But anyway, they've got about 12sq feet to run around in. Lot of grass. I moved them to where I haven't mowed. The other chickens have mowed it, but not my mower. My nephew said he was kinda freaked out at the thought of eating one of them. Said he'd rather buy it from the store already packaged and ready to go. DORK! I told him that these would be better because they are raised with the ability to be outside. LOL. My niece told him about some crappy butchering practices. I told her that what she saw were extreme cases and that she should not base her judgment on those. She asked how I was going to have the processed, so I told her how my butcher of choice does it.
They are coming over on Wednesday to help me keep the dicks herded and move the duck house to the other side of the back shed so I can change the pen area to give them a large are with foliage. I moved it a bit the other day, but it just is not enough. Where the fence is going to go, there will only be about a 30 sq ft of area that is soil. The other 250sq will be all foliage. SO, happy girls.
Had to intervene several times with the cockerels tonight. They were ganging up on the hens. One... Just one... Not all three at once. My poor hens. No wonder they keep going over the fence in the dog area. SHEESH! There are 15 pullets running around the dang yard and yet they keep going after the big girls. Especially poor Fia. Why do they all like Fia. Poor thing is bare backed!
Went and checked my veggies. All the seeds... OMG! Dang chickens dug up the peas! They didn't touch them last year. This year. Different story. Going to plant them again on Wednesday. Put a cage wire over them this time. They left everything else alone. Just not the peas.
And... Well that's it.
