I hate when roos do the snatch and grab, i won't allow it if i'm around.
My roo is still being a one-girl roo. Buries his face in my hair. Still don't like anyone else near his coop, but putting the fence around the front has helped, it seems to calm him down for some reason, even though DH goes into "his" yard...... funny bird. Poor guy has been staying in the little shack most nights, though, at least until his hormones settle for the summer. I let him stay in the camper tonight, DH said coons have been about the last few nights, and i'm not too sure on that chicken wire on the shack......
Babies today!!!!!!!!!!
3 of 5 so far, one little guy has SUCH a fat little bottom!
He was the one peeping at me yesterday, in the huge egg. He is rusty brown and brown, so he's my little hershey kiss.
I can't tell yet if they will be basketball shaped like my hen yet, but they definitely got mom and dad's affectionate temperament., much to the chagrin of the Orp that is brooding them. lol. Aside from the fat bottoms, i do think their backs are wide at the bottom, which is hopeful, since my EE's back is short and wide. The little "bean" chick i bought from
TSC grew "normal", aside from being a bit smaller all around.
