Oh, they aren't buff at all. They are mostly white with some salmon and black lacing... I want to say they are favs crosses with those puffy white birds with the black lacing around the necks..

Sorry about the bad quality... trying to get a pic on the phone zooming in... just sucks, but hey! Can still see how purty they are. LOL.

Thanks Nancy.

I have a pale sea green, light sky blue and pink. Which colour do you think will compliment the lavender of the first hive?

I think green would look the nicest with lavender.

When do any of you do anything else...

Wait, there are other things?

Just to be clear here, I am manly enough to pull off pink.

Miss Criptoe. She has to be the fattest pullet...

Oh man, you have got to see our Maru, she looks like she swallowed a beach ball. Hey, Nova. Do you want to go to Crazy Bounce with us next rainy day?

So, I am out working on the native plant butterfly garden that is part of the "children's garden" area I am trying to put together, and I just had another male black widow crawl right up to me. Agh! This is worse than ticks!!

Well, that is supposed to be tomorrow... The rain that is, and tomorrow, I won't be able to. I need to get my Sunday job done on Saturday cuz its supposed to be in the mid to upper 90s Sunday, and there is NO WAY I am going to deliver flashes in that... SO, I'd rather get soaked tomorrow and get them done than fry in my Jeep.

I'd be concerned with that type of spider problem... I'd hate for one of your girls to be bit by one. Aren't they poisonous to people? Or am I wrong?

Finally got the pool filled to the top after Jace's dump-capade yesterday. Surprised that it was still warm enough to go in. Got the filter running, now I just need to get the chems to go in it to keep it safe for swimming.

The pekins got loose today. Poor little guys were wondering around in the front yard... I am sure they were enjoying the freedom, but I'd hate for one of the cockerels to take it upon themselves to abuse them.

Speaking of the rapists... Now the un-named one has taken to hiding in the bush, waiting for a pullet to walk by, or be absorbed in what ever they are digging up to eat, and jumping them... I guess he figures to hell with the dance, this is easier. Roopert has got his dance down, and Rock has picked a few pullets that he is mooning over and they don't pay him no never mind... BUT THEN!! Mr. Fluffers girls come around and those three idiot rapists lose all there scruples and "ATTACK!" Yeah... Stupid cockerels

My three yr old has decided that today is the day to forget where the toilet is and pee his pants. Twice. I told him I was going to put him in a diaper and show everyone that he's a baby.

Oh man... Long day.

Ok... Problem... Maybe....

I went to go close up, and Skatters chicks were running around totally freaked out. I finally found Skatter in the nest box in the big coop. I don't know if she's laying an egg, or if she's decided she likes being a mom. I hope its the egg thing... Well anyway, I got her out of the nest box, to see what she'd do and she ran back in, leaving her chicks again. SO, I collected the chicks, put them up in the coop with her. She SPAZZED OUT! I mean totally freaking had a cow like she did the day I tried to give her chicks after her first set of eggs were bad. I am hoping that I do not have dead chicks in the morning. She finally let them in and get under her, but was still gumbling. And if they moved around, she'd get aggressive. I watched for a bit, and all seems ok... SO, I locked up the big coop and went and closed up the other chickens. I will check them again when I lock up the ducks for the night. I never put them away till 10-10:30. SO, will check Skatter and the chicks one last time. If she's being a capital b to them, I will have to figure something out right quick... Ah hell.

I hope she is just laying her first egg in 5 weeks...

I hate when roos do the snatch and grab, i won't allow it if i'm around.
My roo is still being a one-girl roo. Buries his face in my hair. Still don't like anyone else near his coop, but putting the fence around the front has helped, it seems to calm him down for some reason, even though DH goes into "his" yard...... funny bird. Poor guy has been staying in the little shack most nights, though, at least until his hormones settle for the summer. I let him stay in the camper tonight, DH said coons have been about the last few nights, and i'm not too sure on that chicken wire on the shack......

Babies today!!!!!!!!!!

3 of 5 so far, one little guy has SUCH a fat little bottom!

He was the one peeping at me yesterday, in the huge egg. He is rusty brown and brown, so he's my little hershey kiss.

I can't tell yet if they will be basketball shaped like my hen yet, but they definitely got mom and dad's affectionate temperament., much to the chagrin of the Orp that is brooding them. lol. Aside from the fat bottoms, i do think their backs are wide at the bottom, which is hopeful, since my EE's back is short and wide. The little "bean" chick i bought from TSC grew "normal", aside from being a bit smaller all around.

Got home this evening after a 14 hour drive. I sure wish those boys did live closer however, seeing my granddaughter sure makes the long drive worthwhile. Last Saturday I got to watch her compete in a MJRC sanctioned rodeo. While she didn't place she has bettered her time and maybe soon she will be able to perform to her horses' capability.
