You know, DH's parents had something flying (maybe this?) outside their deck window the other day and they said it's been around for awhile. It looks like a bee, but was super huge, almost hummingbird size. DH's brother didn't think it was actually a bee, but didn't know what else it could be. Makes we wonder if it was this guy.

I don't think it has anything to do with trust with the actual partner.  I've been with DH for 12 years, I trust him entirely.  I still don't approve of women seeking out married men with ulterior motives in mind.  In fact, I feel the same way about it if it's someone else's DH, I'd have no problem telling her she's barking up the wrong tree.

ok... But what if there are no ulterior motives... My character has none, I am writing her with none. She genuinely likes both people, but I want the wife to be believable as well.

I have absolutely nothing against naming birds and animals or the people who do so. When my sons were small they quite often had names for the calves and hog that they knew were destined for the chopping block. They would even ask i fwe were were eating a particular animal. As long as children are very much aware of a critter's purpose and fate they probably adapt quicker than we do. Personally I don't form any kind of emotional attachment to an animal ultimately headed for the pot. I never think of them as pets.

Swampducks - Happy Birthday!

Fuzzybutt - Yay for the chick, what a way to find it! I hope it does well.

LOL.......... fellow artist here....Metalsmithing and drawing..... ever paint with egg tempura paint? It really sucks! Makes one have a little more respect for the masters!

I hop around between mediums a lot, but oohhhh I miss metals! I have been pregnant and / or nursing for 5 years straight now, though, and don't get to work on anything without kids, so I haven't been able to do anything with metals.

It got me working with wood, though, and I have been enjoying that. Can't wait to get back to metals some day... when I have that awesome garage shop I always dream about.... and that barn studio... *sigh*

huh... Maybe I should just go look up female nature.... Lol

Yeah, I guess I am right there with you. I don't really get it. I have lots of male friends, in fact, I have always had mostly male friends. I see nothing wrong with DH having female friends.
Juise - was that the blind chicken with your daughter?

Woops, didn't realize I didn't say. Yes, that is her.

Ahh, but she didn't say anything about ulterior motives, she even pretty much said there weren't any, didn't she?

Aww, come on, it is so cool looking! I will have to go look at this site...
