Had a little visitor this afternoon and hopefully he stays out of my garden. He was at one side of the yard basking in the sun. David and I both initially thought he might have been injured. This was until we got close to him and he immediately became rather aggressive. I took a few pictures and left him to enjoy the sun. However, a few minutes later I found him sitting next to the wire fence around my garden gazing rather longingly at the plants inside. He is small enough that I'm sure he could squeeze through the 2x4 wire. I removed him to a location at least 50 yards away and as long as he stays out of the garden he and I can be neighbors.

I he decides to consider my garden is private restaurant then he and I will not be friends.
I have a woodchuck skin in my freezer, as well as beaver, possum, and raccoon skins waiting for me to tan them. They were all being nuisances.

The woodchuck digging under chicken pens, the possum decided he wanted to get into my live trap and try to bite my fingers off (usually the possums I catch let me hold them (carefully of course) but this one was so mad it was trying to chew through the live trap), The raccoon thought chickens taste good, and the beaver was clogging drainage ditches. I got about half way done with the possum skin, which I did first to practice on, and then it was spring and I didnt have time anymore.

Well that was interesting...

I came home about 6:00 pm, putzed a bit and then went to check on the flock. Brought treats and all the young birds and ducks came running. But the 2 BSLs and the BO weren't there. Called and called but no big girls.

Before panicking, I start looking around for hiding places or gaps they might have squeezed through. Then I hear Patty behind me yelling for me. The big girls were a couple of yards away eating in the tall grass of the guy who never mows.

So I hopped a couple of fences and carried the over-stuffed hens back to their own yard.

It seems that Patty's dog or my chickens dug under the back fence and made a hole to escape through. There were no losses or injuries and I hope these dumb birds learn to stay in their own safe yard. Sheesh.

Now back to feeding Sebastian.

Anyone good at naming? This doeling needs a name! She kinda looks like a belted galloway, with the white blaze on each side (symmetrical).

Quote: Having never been real big on naming edible animals I will however give it my best shot................................Goat?

Actually goat is quite good and there are breeds like the South African Boer, the Tennessee Meat Goat, the Spanish Meat Goat, and the New Zealand Kiko goat that are raised exclusively for human consumption. In many cultures the goat is the preferred meat of choice.
