TAPROCK!

One of your polish babies is a Frizzle. Feathers coming in and going every which way, but mainly UP.
You all know I don't hatch anything normal....

Mom 2 em all- sorry about dh's foot. I hope the infection is under control soon! Are they going to remove the debris?
I tried catching up on all the posts late last night.... Holy cow.... Wires were hopping yesterday!
Raz- interesting info on the meeting for the ordinance. Glad you spoke out. Hope those in your area are able to have chickens soon. How many places still do not allow chickens? A friend of mine said that there is stil a ban in her city. She said she knows of several neighbors who would like to have them. Anyone know if there is a place to find the cities that allow chickens along with how the ordinance is written up?
Just to share a laugh. I have our chlldren between 3 & 8. One is a son, who is entertaining to say the least. Friends and family ask for reports of his " adventures". While I can't pin this current episode on him... It innocently whispers his name. My hair straightening iron has a 1 to 40 heat adjustment. I usually have it on an 8. It has remained on an 8 for the several years I have had it. I leaned a new lesson...always check the dial. I went the straighten my bangs yesterday and immediately scorched the top of my head...still not catching on... I proceeded to try and straighten a 3 inch wide section of hair....the iron seemed sticky for some reason...finally smelled the burning hair. As I set the iron down I realized I had melted the bottom 3 inches of bangs...which promptly broke off and fell into the sink. The dial had gotten turned all the way up...and was so hot the coating actually melted off. So, you will be able to spot me at cs because I will be the one with stubble on the left side of my head;)
good thing you didn't burn yourself!!!
One of my neighbors asked me to help her grandmother for the weekend while she goes on vacation. I was, to say the least, surprised because I, really, have only known her for a short period of time and her grandma means so much to her. I said I was glad to do it. She said she would pay me what I thought was fair. I have no idea what to ask for.
I have to:
Get her up in the morning... out of bed and into her chair, regular morning routine
Empty her colostamy bag
Help her to bed...
Someone else is coming to check on her durring the day. It will be Fri, Sat, and Sun.

On a different note, she, also, gave me a huge thing of clover honey because it tastes different than regular honey... wierd. I LOVE honey!!!! Maybe one day I will get some bees going, too.

have you ever taken care of some one with a bag? if not make sure she shows you how to do it My MIL lived with us for a short time and if the bag is not on perfect it can leak, (not fun) some times I think the bag was not good as we took extra care to get it right. My MIL was able to help and that was good, ,,,,are you staying with her at night?

That is really so nice of you,, it is hard to get help,, and very costly if you have to hire a nurse to come in....YOU ARE AW-SOME

Very slow day today. Every one must be out doing more fun things... Of course, I will being going to work tomorrow, and I will get home to 30-40 posts. LOL.

Anyway. Going to go shove some more zuc and crooks in the ground before dark. Have a good night all.

Turtles are pretty amazing creatures. Years ago I was out pheasant hunting when I came upon some baby snapping turtles emerging from their nest. I picked up one and placed it in my hunting jacket with the intent to let my youngest son take it to school for show and tell. When I got home I forgot completely about it. It was the following spring when I discovered it again. Where I store my hunting equipment is very cool and it seems that little turtle hibernated the winter in my coat. We placed it in a terrarium, fed it for a couple of months and then released it to the wild.

I'm just going to kvech for a moment...

I've been avoiding my garden chores lately; pretending weeds don't grow like... well, weeds, plants don't need watered, and I don't have deadlines looming. I can't remember if I posted here about the mole/vole/dog fiasco of mid to late May, but ever since then I've been putting off the inevitable: going out there and taking stock of just how much damage was done, admitting how behind one disaster has made me. All I can see from my office window are the tomatoes and those don't look so bad (knock on wood). Of course the truth of the matter is that about 15% of the potatoes were killed, 30% of the pepper plants are gone, 50% of the chinese noodle beans disappeared, 75% of the fennel was displaced, 85% of the bush beans were destroyed, 100% of the spring pea crop is a complete and utter bust, and there will be no dry beans -- none at all. What the mole didn't kill and the vole(s) didn't eat, the dog ruined when he went in after them. I ordered replacement seeds for the beans and there will be an opportunity for another pea crop in the fall, but the window for the rest has basically come and gone. I finally quit playing avoidance today and went out there. I weeded around some of the winter squashes, but couldn't stay long with all the rage welling up inside me. Hours and hours of work, hundreds of dollars in investment... I'd like to simultaneously scream, vomit, drink heavily, and shoot things. And to think it's all over one fat little mole that the collie puppy happily brought me the other day. Tail wagging and eyes smiling, he earned his first, "That'll do."

Dink is having surgery on his foot in the morning- they are going to go in and clean the debris out ( part of the shoe and sock, Im sure), put in a drain and then put him in a walking cast...and then keep him in the hospital probably until Saturday morning.

Randy, thanks for coming to get the ducklings today. You CAN be a sweetheart when you want to!

I didnt go see my hubby this afternoon/evening. I feel exhausted..and I have the sorest throat in the world. Really. Just like I drank gasoline.

UGHHHH.
I have to work directly after my husbands surgery. Tomorrow night I will very happy to FLOP and fall asleep.
